I think I get your point: Use Leo as Clarence Darrow (and the ACLU) used John Scopes in a test case.
As you may recall the objective was to challenge the State’s law. You know the rest.

Yea, good idea, history and a precedent was set and this might be a good plan.

But John Scopes agreed to play to defendant’s role because he had already made plans to move on anyway.
Mr. Scopes wasn’t going to hang around that town and continue teaching.

Ditto from me, I'll donate my $65 renewal if this becomes the apparent end game.

Send a message via Skype™ to Buttercup
OK - so the question is when and where do we send in the $$$. What is the next step? You can email me the details privately if you want - I am in on this and am prepared to back it up.....

Thanks for your interest, but the time to accept funds has not yet ripened.

First I wanted to see if I could get enough pledges posted here or PM'd.

At the rate we're going in 24 hours almost $2,000 is very promising indeed.

I think by the later part of next week we'll have a better idea.

If it looks good a Paypal Trust account can be setup and a mailing address for those who wish to do it that way can be done.

Can you make up a little banner and see if we can get it posted here and Save Wally?

Glad to hear the effort is going so well. It appears you may be finally communicating in the language the IBT ultimately understands. Guess we can just circumvent the communications chairman and forward looking 2020 committee chairmen that have been put into place as figureheads in an effort to appease the masses. How does a self ingratiating clique of elitists come to terms with a judicial action pending upon their protectionist decisions to charge the general membership for their ever increasing privileged benefits and stranglehold upon the WBCCI and draining its resources, sharing only incomplete and skewed financial reports? Stay tuned...

We will not let them silence and shoot the messenger!

Though I think the IBT/EC7 will go down fighting, put me in for $100.

Remember, they have very deep pockets of "your" cash to fight this in court.

Paul.

What's to fight?

Many members are fed up with many of the WBCCI's recent actions and behavior's.

Accordingly, many of those members resigned, and want to start their own club.

WBCCI does not own the name Airstream. Therefore they cannot object to it's use.

Airstream could object, but I am of the opinion, that they would be supportive, as they are of many things, which are supportive of them.

This site is one of those supportive efforts by Airstream. I chatted with Larry Huttle, before Airstream got involved, about this Forums. Since this was new to them, the big question was "what if"?

My answer was that the Forums would be extremely valueable to many Airstream owners if for no other reason than basic exchanging of information. That being the case, in turn, it would also be very valueable to Airstream, and Airstreaming.

Bottom line?

The Airforums has provided more help and advertising for airstream's products, than Airstream could have ever imagined, and all without any costs, to them.

The Forums has become a win, win, win and win situation.

A win for Airstream.

A win for Andy R.

A win for Airstream owners.

And a win for some Airstream dealers who chose to participate and be supportive.

So, who cares if the club is upset. They had the choice of providing all those "wins" too.

Instead, the IBT, supported themselves, and basically ignored, for most part, the wishes of it's members and of Airstream dealers. Not always, but, all too often.

Why did Airstream, several years ago, withdraw support from the club. Those reasons, today, are obviously apparent to many members, who don't need to have a book written about it, and in simple terms, simply want to belong to a club, that is reasonably run, and is ever mindful that's it's members joined to have fun, with others and their Airstream.

That's what the club was all about, many years ago.

Sadly, in many respects, today it's.......................?

Wally, hang in there. There will be a day, once again, that clubbing with an Airstream will be a great joy to many many Airstream product owners.

It will take some time, and effort, but the hand writing is not only on the walls, but on many mental billboards across our great country.

Wally, most of us have been proud to be associated with you, even though most of us have never met you. Your name, carries the highest of respect and esteem, with most of us.

New efforts are underway, to renew that proudness and to enlist many more newcomers as well.

Have faith, Wally, in this new effort. The promise is that you will be very proud, as it surfaces and progresses.

Andy

I can see it--

Sure, but judge we only burn 100K+ a year and will be bankrupt, whats the big deal we'll be too old at that time to care.

We don't care what the members want we still need our travel expenses.

We will conspire (black lists) to oust members that expose our short falls.

We let members run from the floor for office.

We let any member have freedom of speech on our forum.
We even let a guy set it up and sell all his used Airstreams on our forum.
We gave him that perk if he would file a grievance for us.

We are elitists what would you expect less your Honor?

Folks - we are going to close this thread. We don't allow soliciting and fundraising in general at AIR and so this particular instance isn't really any different. Our community rules address this specifically. We work hard to keep discussions flowing and make everyone comfortable here at AIR and have developed these guidelines to that end. Perhaps you could take this discussion to Save Wally.. Thanks for understanding.
