This is region 9 leadership??? This is what WBCCI is all about??? No wonder membership is dropping. With people like this, what incentive is there to join this group?
People are upset at you because threy don't like your message, or perhaps the way it is presented. But the content of the message is in fact spot on IMHO. The club is dissolving financially. And it is the leadership who is running the ship aground.
Leo, maybe people don't like your New York way of dealing with issues, but this action, and WBCCI's response to it, is inappropriate. The response from "Doug & Sheryl W" is cold and unforgiving. In fact, it is not an apology at all, but a statement of regret for a lost bottle of tea.
This is the image of WBCCI? Really?

That was not an apology.
Please post the pics on Save Wally or here, they have no control on what you do or say now.

I don't think so !!!!!

Leo,
I work on 'some of the most expensive RVs on the road' and let me tell you that the Airstreams that the WBCCI's self-aggrandized leadership are so proud if are located somewhere in the middle of the pack....AT BEST!
You want to see some of these 'most expensive RV's? Check out any Prevost, Newell Coach, Monaco Signature or Executive, Beaver Marquise, Tiffin Zephyr, Newmar King Air or Essex and others of this class. These are truly some of the MOST EXPENSIVE AND LUXURIOUS RV's!!!!
Airstream motor homes are nice, but are NOWHERE near the league that this group is in.
More evidence of the bubble that they seem to live in.

I think all the "lowly" members should be given Vuvuzelas and use them when all the wylies, colliers, heydes speak. We don't need no stinking "good" iced tea to show
our displeasure.

I believe there are black ribbons that can be attached to the WBCCI badges and have been distributed and supplied by Nuvite of Ohio that state, "Reinstate Leo."

Thanks for the plug, Carol, and just wanted to let everyone know they are still available in accordance with the original offer http://www.airforums.com/forums/f286...ons-63233.html
Several hundred are in circulation and I fondly hope that some of them are in evidence at Gillette to lend a sense of disquiet to the Executive Committee, a quiet little voice inside telling them they made a Big Mistake.
Cheers,
Nuvi

Nuvi I hope they do! I think the ribbons were a stroke of genius. I only wish I was there to wear mine but perhaps they will become a symbolic and timeless reminder of things gone awry just as you say. That was very nice of you to do that at your own expense. I think Leo should have some people in his corner after all the energy and work he has put into trying to improve the WBCCI. I am certain he appreciates others' efforts on his behalf. The one part of the meeting today on grievance or gripe was hurried through and they were onto the next order of business quickly.

Sorry for the delay folks, we were hoping these were going to be distributed outside the Delegate Meeting, but that might not happen at this point. We have just 24 hours to spread this one wide and far. If you were able to blanket your entire unit, I would appreciate you sending me a PM after you've done it so I know your unit has been covered.
It's going to be a long night I'm afraid.

Just an update on the elections, Mark had a wonderful showing and the support of many units and that is with less than 48 hours notice!! Next year expect greater numbers and a very possible win.
Final tabulation
Wiley 4573
Hyde 3649
Garvey 1237
Abstentions 1525
Adding Mark's votes and abstentions together we see there is a great likelihood of being able quite able to elect an officer from candidates running from the floor!!!!

I agree! The mood of the delegates was different this year. They need to know about the candidacy well in advance, so the members of their Unit can consider it in their instructions to the Delegate. Imagine how dissatisfied they were to have given such latitude even absent an announced candidate.
Get the information out early and keep the message positive!

If so it would be great to have a public announcement made at the International before it closes. That way it will be clearly demonstrate that restrictions on members access to the BB and the WBCCI forum exist by the absence of any information during the upcoming year. If they want to play the censorship game lets make it clear to those who deny that condition exists.

Now that's just the kind of International leadership I could actually stand behind. I will be anxious to hear from them upon their return.

Back at Home
After 4 weeks of touring Canada and the USA I'm home.
I have sent an email about running and as soon as I get a response I will let you know my intentions. I will say I am leaning towards running.

I'm Going to Run
I have thought about this for a number of weeks and its time for change, or at least a hope for change.
I am going to run for the Nominating Committee in 2011 and try to do it the WBCCI way!
Now.............. how the hell do you do it the right WBCCI way?
I'm going to need all the support and help that I can get here so lets turn this thing around and help our club survive!
