Hi Ed

You have to get in touch with Leo G. He tried for several years and even paid the ad fee only to have the IP rule it not printable. He will get it at this address.
savewally@gmail.com

Sorry but you are really looking at next year as the filing date has passed. The clowns have set all kinds of road blocks and if they fail they rule you Out of ORDER. Take the year and with luck things will have changed if we succeed in court.

Sorry I can't include two quotes since Carol so quickly gets to the root of the problem. I keep telling Richard we have to come out to Michigan and get together.

I have been in the club for 10 years or more and it is always just one candidate per position.

It's how they get away with perpetuating the madness. You go for it ED!

I like reading the résumé’s. No stars here.

Ed,

Since “Mr. Hyde” brought the subject up during his smack down session to Shari Davis in Perry GA, maybe it’s time the subject is brought up again.

Should the WBCCI VAC think about breaking away from the WBCCI? Let’s think about it, if the VAC increased their dues to just half one has to pay to belong to current belong to both ($20.00+27.50=47.50) the VAC could offer many things to its membership that it cannot currently. Maybe a subscription to Airstream Life, a Vintage Rally that could blow your socks off, etc…

Did the VAC see the problem with the management of the WBCCI coming many years ago? Maybe we did and just did not know it.

I just might consider rejoining the VAC if something like this actually occurred........

In my opinion what the VAC saw all these years was to many rules and restrictions.
Indirectly this was probably an indicator of what was coming, examples being all the required travel with the expense that goes with it, the grievance situation etc.
The VAC has tended to ignore or make end runs around some of these "we have always done it this way" things and thus aroused the anger of some ( Mr Heyde) in positions of authority. Others simply recognized the VAC as the unique group it is.

With the amount of time the parent organization can waste on emblem and flag approvals, badge protocol etc it is a wonder anything ever gets done. Certainly nothing gets done in a timely manner

but how do I join the VAP? Would you let a subgroup of "waiting to become vintage" owners form under the VAP? (The devil made me say it)

Paula,

You join as a subscriber. You will receive the Vintage Advantage, you cannot run for office and you cannot vote in the annual election. Other that that, I believe, you are a full member.

Pauls, additionally, if you are a member in good standing in WBCCI (not sure if you are or not) you can join as an Associate Member.

Well heck, that's exactly what we are all used to in the WBCCI, you get a BB and you can't run and you can't vote! Let's hope if the VAC ever seceded they might change being stuck in the past and let us in with a vote and an opportunity to volunteer as a full member and not just a mere associate member. It hasn't hurt Tin Can Tourists thus far that I can tell. Perhaps there could be a combination Classic Vintage Airstream Club. Besides the CAC already have a history of leaving WBCCI behind and then got courted back into the fold.

Seriously, the idea Ed proposed is that you can only vote NO by voting for someone else! I will ask the DENCO Unit to cast its votes for Ed at our business rally this May! If the majority votes for Ed instead of Hyde then our delegate will nominate him from the floor.
Ask your local unit to do the same.

Okay Ed, I have written to my Unit President to ask that they review this thread and if you run they consider also voting no to the slate and nominating you. I'm hoping this will be brought up at our business meeting.

Metro Detroit and Nova are you on board? I would hope Region 4 will begin to become more active in club matters and rallies and internet presence!

Wink Yo, Ed! You still out there?

Before we start putting this on our business meeting agendas, do we know yet if Ed is actually running this year?

"...[C]andidates may be nominated from the floor provided written consent to serve has been given." Constitution, Article XIII, Nominating Committee, Section 5.

Nope

Did some checking and NOPE, not doing it this year. Too much BS with no return. I will run next year and will have things in place the right way to do it.

I will propose our membership ask that our votes be counted AGAINST or ABSTAIN on both Nominating Committee Candidates. I'm also going to propose an amendment (I know it will take a year and a half) to require the selection of Nominating Committee by the Delegates present at International...must be a current Unit President or his alternate delegate.

Support?
