You can request a number when you join, you can do it via the online join form on wbcci.org, or you can call the office and they can let you know if the number you want is available.

Hi all,
I just purchased a 1978 Airstream International Ambassador 28ft. with red numbers on it: 13303. Would anyone be so kind as to look up that number in your directories? Two WBCCI directories from the '90's came with the trailer, but 13303 is not in there. Thank you so much for your help!

I too, am looking for information on a WBCCI number. Number 881, my grandparents had it in the 50's and 60's and were very active in the WBCCI.

Last year, I purchased a 1992 Excella 1000. It has the wbcci 11830 numbers on it.

I saw in a previous post that it belonged to the Cripps family, and their last club trip was to Newfoundland in 1992. The numbers have 6 red stars above. Is ther any other info on this camper?

Would love to know the history of my camper. We just returned from a weeklong trip to the mountains of North Carolina. The camper is still serving, and it gets a lot of attention from other campers.

2014 directory does not list that number. Looks like they joined WBCCI when they bought the trailer, but are no longer members. I can not find my 2015 directory, so do not have their name.

Hi Emelford,
As I have often mentioned, WBCCI did not keep records of the Airstreams owned by club members, nor the Airstreasm used on caravans, but we can make educated guesses from the big red numbers found on Airstreams.

#21124 was first assigned in 1968, which is very appropriate for a 1968 Airstream, and thus first appears in the 1969 WBCCI Membership Directory, which was published at the start of the year. #21124 has been assigned as follows over the years:
1969-76: Walter L. & Velma Folck, Springfield, OH, no caravans.
1977-78: Unassigned.
1979-2005: W. Mervin & Ethel Gladney, Charelston, SC, Caravans 126 - Best of Mexico Winter 1980, U107 - South Carolina Dogwood Trail 1994, U126 - South Carolina Dogwood Trail II 1995 (only Ethel listed in 2005).
2006+: Unassigned.

What can we guess from this information? I will guess that the Folcks likely owned your 1968 Ambassador because their WBCCI number was issued the year your Airstream was made. I'll guess that the Gladneys did not own it and instead were randomly reassigned the #21124 after it was unused for two years.

That said, I cannot rule out the possibility of the Gladney's owning it or even both couples owning it, but I have no way to prove or disprove it. You might have more clues based upon where you bough it, possibly near Ohio or South Carolina or dealer decals or emblems on the trailer (e.g. from OH or SC) or paperwork you got with it that shows prior owner names. You'll have to make your best guesses from those details along with the WBCCI number information I provided. Good luck. Enjoy your Ambassador!

#6445 was first assigned in 1962 which might be possible for an early build 1963 Airstream, but also might not have been put on the trailer when new, because 6445 appears to be in the lower part of the range of WBCCI numbers first assigned in 1962 (the numbers 6009 to 8024 were first assigned in 1962), which might mean it was assigned before model year changeover.

Anyway, this number has been assigned in WBCCI Membership Directories as follows over the years:

Boy I HATE looking up these "revolving door numbers". It takes a lot of time and effort to do so using old paper membership directories. Since #6445 was assigned 7 different times over the years, what's my best guess? Given that you are in Utah, and assigning the 1963 Airstream is, too, either the DeYoungs or the Hawkins seems the most likely owners, but probably not both.

The 1962 Western Canada caravan rendezvoused in Auburn, WA on July 6, 1962, so it is possible that VERY, VERY early 1963 Airstream might have been on that caravan, but it would have had to be one of the very first ones off the line and the DeYoungs would have had to make a bee line straight to Auburn. It seems unlikely, but it can't be ruled out.

Hi Micah,
Looking up who WBCCI numbers were assigned to in paper membership directories is time consuming, so I need to know what Airstream you are finding the numbers on. #21185 was first assigned in 1968. On the other hand, I do not understand what you mean by "limited app. 28 ft.". Airstream models with the "Limited" name were not made until the 1980s (other than a rare 1949 model that I do not believe had a model name plate). If you are inquiring about a 1980s or later Airstream, clearly I do not need to search earlier directories. If you identify the year and model of the Airstream, I will be happy to look up the number information.
