Believe it or not, I have several old flannel sheets that came from my mothers family (her maiden name was Ponder) that have "Pouder" stamped on them. I suspect this was from some sort of laundry service or perhaps a kid's camp markings. I have never heard of this quasi dislexia before but I do get a good chuckle everytime I see them. Incidently, I've been using them in my trailer for years.

Colin,
I guess the mysteries will never end. I don't doubt you, but I have never heard of such quasi dyslexia before. Weird.

Dorothy Crouch is last listed in 2003, no caravans. I didn't check an directories more recent than 2004, when #21326 was unassigned, but I'd have to say that the Crouches owned your 1972 Overlander. It is definitely possible that they bought your 1972 Overlander new in August or September of 1971 and immediately the club to be listed in the 1972 Directory.
Hi Joe (66 Overlander),

Thank you ever so much for your detailed research! Wonderful, wonderful!!!

Cheers

The first listing I have for it is 1966 when it is assigned to someone with the last name Burghdorf, but I have no more information. In 1968, #2167 is assigned to Howard and Jane Thornhill of New York, NY.

Enjoy!
Thank you so much for your time on this....Hope to see you on the road

Joe:

Thanks for the information. I really appreciate it. Question???? I am thinking of camping Michigan this summer. My parents used to take us to Saugatauk when we were little. Any good campgrounds on the lake? What is Warren Dunes like these days? I used to camp in the early 70's at Warren Dunes. Back when I was in High School.

Thanks again

Brian

Hi Joe,
I guess I'll jump in here with my request too. I bought my first trailer 10 years ago, a 57 Sovereign of the Road. It apparently belonged to someone in Texas at some point, however I bought it in Western Pa. It had #10247 on it so that was the number I requested when I joined the WBCCI. I've always been curious of its history, however after discovering it was not as old as the trailer, i decided to look for something more interesting.
I have since changed my number to 1936 as this was the first year that Airstream made the rivetted aluminum bodies. I was quite surprised that I was able to get it as I would have thought the Factory would have reserved that for themselves. Anyway, would you mind looking up both of these for me?
Thanks,
Colin
PS I am often confronted by people in gas stations saying that my trailer is in great shape for a 36....................it's a 59 Ambassador

Thank you so much! I cound a Jack Staats who looks of the correct vintage and e-mailed him yesterday. Maybe I can get a few stories out of him.

So fun!

I have wondered who had my Dad and Mom's airstream number before they did. It is 16266. I have the number now and it would need to be before the 70's. They are in the 70's WBCCI book.
