Thanks much

In the 1966 directory, 246 is assigned to Meyerring, Henry & Bessie of Rensselaer, Ind. Listed caravan was Mexico, West Coast Winter 1955.

In the 1976 directory, 246 is listed as Meyerring, Henry & Lola of Lakeland, Fla. Same caravan.

Thank you Jimbcole! It's great to have this bit of history about the Overlander and to know about that Caravan😊

I have recently acquired a 1978 28' Ambassador. It is completely stripped out on the inside. Only the tanks and A/C unit are left. There are WBCCI numbers on both front and back. Can someone tell me who it was registered to? The number is 12328.

In the 1976 directory 12328 was listed to Frie, Fred & Cindy of Lakeport, Ca.

I'm not going to be much help on this one. Sorry. The 1966 directory has that number listed numerically to Dorstewitz. The name is omitted in the alphabetical listing. Maybe somebody else has a directory that will give more detail.

Hi Jim, good to hear you have directories, I wonder if you could be so kind to look up the previous USA owner of my 1969 Caravel. I live in Buckinghamshire UK and have lost all the history of this lovely machine which was imported into the UK a few years ago. The very faded number appears to be WBCCI#1976, but there is a gap in the middle where the round WBCC badge must have been.

1976 is listed in the 1966 directory to Osterhout, Willard & Nora of LaCrosse, Wisconsin USA

1976 is not assigned in the 1976 directory.

The numbers belong to the member that year. 255 would have been a Region or International Officer, but he is not listed in our 2015 directory, so he must have left the organization.

Are there references to check previous ownership? Seems I have come across this before. The 1990s isn't too far back.

Since 1998, #255 has been assigned as follows in the Wally Byam Caravan Club (WBCCI):
1998-2003: Dale & Faye Hoerger, of Mission TX, many caravans listed indicating the Hoergers had been members for years before 1998 (only Faye listed in 2003).
2004-2010: ATT & Faye Morris, of Mission, TX, same caravans listed (only ATT listed in 2010).

Appears to be a remarriage for Faye. #255 would indicate that the one of assignees (most likely Dale) was at one time a Region President within the club. There are no records to know which years anyone within the club owned any particular Airstream, but it looks like the 34' spent at least part of it's life in Mission, TX.
