Thank you. In addition to the visible ghost numbers 3667 our 58 Flying Cloud had a caravan image.

Unfortunately the number was reissued and not available when I joined WBCCI. We have been to Western Canada with it and one day we will take it to Mexico again.

Sorry to bother you but I have a mystery of sorts. Found a trailer that the guy says has no name so he has a set of numbers 03040 on a 1953. Any idea which trailer that is and where it has been? Thanks in advance of any help you can give me.

26611 is registered to Emil Sterbene of Gary, IN no national caravans listed. My collection only goes back to 1964, so someone else with have to look up your 53. My 1964 directory lists Johnson as the owner of 4365 that year. They are not in the alphabetical listing.

Hi Sandy:

If the guy found the letter and numbers "O-3040" stamped into the AIRSTREAM data plate next to the door on a 1953 trailer, then they indicate the trailer is a 1953 21' Flying Cloud, the 40th such model built in Ohio during that first year of production.

WBCCI number 4365 was first issued in 1961, so as dwightdi mentions, it likely first belonged to Johnson about whom we have no further information.

1967 numbers 13552 or 3552 and 17480

We have a 1967 Sovereign that has two numbers on it, the more recent number is 13552 or perhaps 3552 (its hard to see if the one belongs) and the ghosted number underneath is 17480. The trailer has what appears to be an original dealer tag from Trailerama of Sparta, Wisconsin.

Can anyone provide more info on who might have owned it previously? There is also a round wbcci caravan sticker on the front, maybe its been on caravan.

I'm not the resident expert here, but I have recently acquired a 1966 and 1976 club member directory.

13552 is listed in both to the same people. Charles and Charlotte Kirsch first of Richland Center, Wi 53581 and then in 1976 Columbus, Wi 53925

17480 in 1976 is listed to Ralph and Lillian Pennington of Amery, Wi 54001

The Kirsch'a were Unit Past Presidents. No caravans listed.

Hope that helps

Thank you! It looks like the Kirsch's had it for at least ten years then. Now I just need to figure out how it made it from Wi to Al.
Thank you again!

We joined the WBCCI today as well as the 4 Corners Unit. We have ghost numbers 8485 on the trailer and hope they are available. Our trailer is a 1965 Tradewind. Do we need to pay for VAC separately?

How did you sign up? If you did it over the phone to Jackson Center Headquarters, you should have requested whether that number was currently available. The membership directory, issued in Jan. 2013, indicates it is available. You need to sign up to be a member of VAC separately. The VAC website allows you to do it on the site or you can call the telephone number on the site, or you could fill in the form available on the site and sending it in with your check via US mail.

Ghost number 5344.

We have a 1965 Tradewind with ghost number 5344. Could we find out any information you may have on this. The trailer was purchased in AZ and had a previous plate from AZ.

Thanks in advance for you response and for all the research you do.

I am also hoping someone will have some input on our trailer's numbers. We have a 1979 Overlander that has two numbers on it, the more recent number is 14202 and the ghosted number underneath is 30248.

thanks,

Greg

I do not believe the number is 5344. If so, it would not be centered on the end cap. The spacing suggests that there should be a leading "1" or "2" (but cannot be higher, because the highest number ever assigned was under 35000).

I think I may see the top of a "2" in front straddling the panel seam, possibly making the actual number 25344. On the other hand, #15344 would have first been assigned in 1966, not necessarily inappropriate for a 1965 Airstream. #25344 was first assigned in 1971. If you can confirm which it is, I can look the number up for you.

#30248 was first assigned in 1976. In 1978 and 1979 it was assigned to Amouel & Mary Singleton of New Albany, IN, no caravans. The Singletons did not renew in 1980. I spot checked a few later directories and it does not appear that #30248 was ever reassigned.

#14202 was first assigned in 1965, but our concern is post 1979. #14202 was unassigned in 1980 thru 1983, before being reassigned to Geoffrey & Glenda Shilleto of London, ON in 1984 & 1985, no caravans. It was then unassigned thru at least 1989. I spot checked a few directories after than and it appears that #14202 may have never been reassigned, although my checks were not comprehensive.

It thus seems very likely that your 1979 Overlander was owned by both the Singletons and the Shilletos.
