new WBCCI site: small suggestion

Hi, there
I was wandering about the new WBCCI site this morning. It really nice a nice one! Congratulations!

One small suggestion: Would it be possible to include a little "Contact the webmaster" mailto: link on every page at the bottom? I ran across a small error in wording on one page and would have reported it, but couldn't find a report link.

The ECC is responsible for the content of the wbcci.org website. They can be reached at ecc@wbcci,net. The individual unit websites are part of the wbcci.net group of websites and are run by the individual unit webmasters, or the webmasters for the individual caravans, or interclubs. Content suggestions for those websites should be addressed to those webmasters.

It appears though the new website has blown the WBCCI out of the water in regards to Google. If one does a search for "wbcci" the website use to come up on the first page results, now it does not. "wbcci.net" is the first hit, "wbcci.org" no where to be found. Many of the different Regions website come up on first page.

Enjoy,

Google results are a function of hits to a given site. The new site will move up in the pecking order as more people go to it.

A few years back my truck site came up first if you searched on Propane Injection.

Members can speed up this process by going to the site early and often just like voting in Chicago.

You can probably speed it up a little by logging into the Google webmaster portal and the Bing webmaster portal (for both Bing and Yahoo, I think). They'll ask you to add a line of code into the main page, then crawl the site.

Ranking, though, takes a little longer. Visitations and incoming links from similar sites all play a role.

All the more reason why part of the stadard format for a WBCCI web page should be a "mailto" link for the webmaster in question. A visitor to the site is unlikely to know which sites are the responsibility of which people, without a contact link to tell them.

Old trailerites never die they just keep rolling... over and over in their grave. I am sure I have heard that true of Wally, right here on this very forum.

Maybe he should talk to Harry Houdini, who has been trying unsuccessfully to send messages from beyond the grave since 1926.
