Do I, or Don't I put the 'Official' WBCCI Logo Sticker on SilverToy, along with the numbers?
I mean with the changes that are afoot, perhaps all this Red Numbers, Round Logo, beret (on order), red jacket (backordered - I forgot to ask about the shoes, white I think!) will be passe, like last years fashions and I'll look like a real Boob, AND with 14+ stickers to peel off.
Don't ya hate messin with tradition. Makes sense to leave it as is.

I think the name should be changed. No one knows who Wally is anymore. If we want the club to grow, the name should reflect the most marketable commodity it has, the Airstream name.
#5013, although a member-at-large. Traditionalist, I say leave the name, or at most, change "caravan" to Airstream, but keep the Wally. I like being connected to something that has lasted and represents our prized trailers. Sure, refresh the Club to better include younger family members, but respect the past. Maybe Max and I (60's) will even be persuaded then to visit and join a local Missouri club. Remember the old Girl Scout song? "Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other gold." Surely seems to apply here. ~G

WDCU. . .MALs no longer! What's a few miles among Airstream friends?
I vote YES. Not for those of us who are already members, but for those people who don't know or care who Wally Byum was, or what the WBCCI is. I see immediate recognition and interest in the Airstream Trailer Club. That is the term I use for our club when talking to people in general. Our trailers unite us. The wonderful people in our club is what keeps us together. That's why we are lifetime members. George
I voted to change it before, but now I've changed my mind to leave it alone. I feel bad about losing the tradition of all those years of Wally Byam's name and vintage caravans and all that...

I love this forum... I've read many arguments for and against, here and I've CHANGED MY MIND! This is a big deal - I hate to admit that I was wrong. But I vote no. No change.
Wally is cool and the "wally spirit" is alive and kicking and every Airstreamer who has had a passing thought or desire to hitch up and wander the world knows it.
The first post suggested just voting on this thread - no chatter. Sorry Stef - I don't follow directions very well. Maybe the WBCCI should be letting the folks they want to attract to the club vote.... The "already joined" folks already get it.
Keep the name - change the club practice. Do away with the pomp and fluff and go camping!

What if the Hokey-Pokey is really what it's all about?
I joined right after getting my Airstream. Still haven't put the stickers on yet, they're in a folder along with other Airstream documents. I'm not a dull or slow guy, but my eyes glazed over with the official sticker instructions, so in the folder they sit! Maybe I'll have a go at the stickers this Spring!
My number is on my signature (easy to put it there for me).

I think by changing the name away from Wally Byam Caravan Club International to something like Wally Byam Airstream Club would better represent what the club is about...Airstreams, not just caravans.
Shari
I vote no. As someone said, it is one of the few things that isn't broken. If any change is made, I would accept Shari's idea. As to Wally Byam, what about the Audobon Society? Shouldn't that be the bird society for the same reasons?
If a name change is supposed to increase the membership and make the club a more household name, why not survey the non members on this forum. How about a poll that asks non members, would you become a member if the name was changed? After all, this is all about getting new members.
