New Oregon Unit Website
Here is the new Oregon Unit website
Oregon Unit WBCCI
It's simple, and be kind if you critique it because I made it
I hope this will help us begin to better publicize our events and reach out to more local airstreamers!

Nice job, Steph! So, we were going to join the Western Oregon Unit in July, since we're attending the Western Oregon Unit Rally in Sisters, OR. Is this a joint Oregon & Western Oregon Unit rally? I was told the Eugene folks made up most of the Western Oregon Unit. Should I consider the Oregon Unit? Any difference in size, number of rallies, etc.? (BTW, you have the Sisters Rally listed as occuring in June on your events schedule....I believe it's in July)
Thanks,
Jim

I'll check the dates and get that fixed. Actually, Sisters is a Western Oregon unit rally. We went last year. We're listing all the rallys in the area in our calendar because we have very few that our unit is putting on this year - the Spring rally which is already past, the Pendleton Roundup, and the Newberry Crater Rally. Other rallys are either shared or just our neighboring units. But that's the wonderful thing about the WBCCI, we're all welcome to participate no matter which unit we're in. Both Oregon and Western Oregon are small units and do lots of things together. Washington Unit is huge.
Join whichever unit feels right for you, and hopefully we'll run into you at a rally soon!

Looks good. I'm sure you will get around to expanding it at a later date. I am going to pass the link on to my better half and she is going to ask her folks if that is the unit they belong to.
You may already know, they own a 1973 23' safari. The unique thing about their rig is the tow vehicle. It is a restored 1950s something Ford ton and half or so truck. Green in color.

I think I'd remember if I'd seen that, because I'm even more car-crazy than trailer crazy
We really need to get a little NW forum rally together. It seems like there are quite a few of us around here.

Very timely post, Stephanie.
Petunia and I will be crosing the Oregon border in about a week or so. Perhaps we will be able to attend one of the rallies.
Which ones are sold out?

I love comic sans
Porky, only Newberry Crater is sold out. We'd love to meet you while you're in the area. Keep us posted of where you're at, and maybe we'll be able to say hi.
If you're coming up near I5 I highly recommend you spend a few nights in Ashland, Oregon and catch some plays. Get a spot at Emmigrant Lake (a county park East of town). Be sure to have dinner at Martinos! We'll be down there next month doing the same.

Yes .. we plan to stay a week or more in Ashland ... should be there sometime next week.
We were considering Glenyan Campground .. but will also look into your suggestion.
Thanks for the tip.

Glenyan is right across the street from the entrance to Emmigrant lake. I thought Glenyan was a little too rustic for my taste. Lots of live ins when we drove through. And of course Emmigrant Lake is right on a lake! If you find one you can find the other. Enjoy! Wish we were heading down there sooner, but our tickets aren't 'til the middle of next month.

So, where in the Gorge is the Twinkie rally going to be? Which park?

I'll email the unit prez and find out. I don't get responses back from him too quickly because he's on the road. But I'll let you know and post it to the website when I do.

Yes, that's where we stopped on our way back from the Social in CA a couple weeks ago. Spent the night and caught a play. It's a nice quiet park clean everytime we've been there. We spent a week there last summer, and will be doing that again next month.
While all the spots have a beautiful view, the primo spot is #21, and it's usually reserved way in advance.

I just got word back from the president that the location of the Silver Twinkie rally is still undecided. They are busy getting ready to head to the international rally, so it will probably be decided after that.

Turns out that they, the wifes folks who are members that i mentioned on the "blue beret" thread, are members of the western oregon unit, but i guess they are considering changing units. Which is probably likely and we may end up following them.

Thanks Stephanie,
Great website, I am sure that we will be catching up with you all in the future when our Airstream is ready to roll. There sure are some gorgeous camping sites here in Southern Oregon. Look forward to meeting with you some time. We'll become members soon.
Take care
