This poll has been closed for a while but I still appreciate you expressing an opinion. I can't help myself offering a cheap shameless plug for SaveWally.org and the information we have presented there on the entire name change issue.

I don't know what information you read prior to making your decision so I am not sure if you got both sides of the story. Surely, everyone should be studying as much information as one can prior to making as drastic a decision on changing the name of a club with a 50 plus history. Just because the "Name Change Committee" says it's a good thing doesn't mean it is.

I know that in my opinion the information published in the BB seems more like a sales pitch for the name and is presented without any opposing viewpoint. In many cases the opinions expressed contradict the statements made by the same committee chair months earlier on these forums and in personal messages sent to members expressing concerns.

Savewally was put together to offer an opposing viewpoint and to highlight the contradictions, root out the fallacies and expose the folly in the name change issue. It may be very enlightening, especially if you have not yet fully heard any opposing viewpoint.

Also the topic has been hashed out in these forums many ways over and at times quite passionately. My hope is that you are making your decision fully informed and not just following along like lemmings. 50 years is far too much history to be throwing away and handing control of so many aspects of the club over to THOR is just not a wise decision..IMHO

We need to keep the history of the club. I vote to Do the right thing that was agreed upon last international. This to add the word "Aristream" to the club name, WBACI. WALLY BYAM AIRSTREAM CLUB INTERNATIONAL. Something old, something new, this will satisfy Airstramers everywhere and it will let THOR in on the deal.
But remember, the VAC signed the deal last year to be allowed to use the Airstream "mark" and "tradedress" on the new logo. And theVAC must buyall VAC trinkets throught Airstream. Funny thing, though, Airstream hasn't produced any goodies on the VAC's behalf. We stand in both fields with new and old trailers. Just hoping the whole thing works out and is fair.

What the delegates agreed on last International is null and void if the motion was improper, which it was. If they voted on something without knowing the full consequences (such as the unconstitutional contract) then their vote was meaningless. The contract is unconstitutional precisely because including the word Airstream enables THOR to exercise control over the Club. No name with the word Airstream will thus be constitutional unless a contract can be obtained that allows us unrestricted use of OUR Club name and logo. THOR is not going to let that happen.
