Maybe I am stupid, but why should they get this kind of a perk at all? Isn't this a camping club and don't we all buy our own Airstream? Don't they get their camping fees and mileage paid for while traveling and seeing this beautiful country?

There are a number of well run camping organizations, Escapees comes to mind,
which, by the way was started by a former WBCCI member.

Officers have no extra privileges, in fact you would not even no you were conversing with an officer unless you asked or were told.

Models ARE out there, the wheel does not need to be reinvented.

This is not true.

As a club officer (IBT) IF they wish to buy a NEW unit to travel in Airstream used to extend a 5% discount off list to the member. That is the only "deal" that they get. If you can't get a dealer to come off list by 5% then have I got something to sell ya! I don't know if this program is still in place. They DO NOT get to use one for a year and purchase it at the end of the year.

They can lower dues

The votes were reported

YES-NO-ABSTAIN

I would assume if you didn't vote locally with your unit it was counted as abstained.

If you do not vote with your unit, the percentage of those who voted is used against the total number of votes for your unit. Abstains are people who chose to abstain or maybe the delegate was confused.

I understand this to me that the total votes were actually votes yes or no and the abstentions are not considered votes thus the difference in the tally. Makes sense!

Abstentions only come into play when you are trying to determine who won based on the majority requirements, i.e., simple majority, 2/3 majority, majority of the votes cast, etc. Here it seemed like a simple majority was all that was needed. To abstain in this kind of voting, means you will accept the will of the majority, so in effect you have voted with the majority. This makes the defeat of the MOHO amendment even more dramatic.

I had heard some discussion at our happy hour this evening that the MOHO issue is going to reappear, don't know how or when but the big wheels are not going to let it die when they think it is the best thing to do.

Way too much time and energy is being spent when the club has other major pressing issues (declining membership). I hope they figure it out and LISTEN to the membership. PLEASE!

Let 'em try. We'll vote it down, and vote them OUT. All they want is a free ride!

If that motion is made again IMPEACH 'EM

As I said before the WBCCI was used as a pawn by AirStream with the past officers, let's hope the new leaders don't get corrupted.

Now I will join!

I've been waiting to hear how the vote went before joining. Obviously, I am happy with the result and will sign up! If it comes up again for a vote, I'll be a part of the NO votin block. Now the only thing to decide is what unit to join. Leaning towards the Washington DC unit. Is the VAC a unit? I guess I'll start a new thread to ask for any thoughts on units.
