Looking for a WBCCI number
Hi all,
I just discovered this forum. I don't currently own an Airstream although I just took the tour of the factory in Ohio. I grew up with Airstreams (my parents owned three total) and remember going to WBCCI rallies. I would love to know who has our old numbers (5355). I would like to get some of the history of the number to them and also find out who has had that number since my parents gave it up back in the early 80's.
Thanks
Jim

5355
Hi,
As of the 2009 membership directory that number is not in use. So if you are thinking of buying an Airstream, you could get it back (assuming it has been unused for a certain length of time, which I don't remember.)
Someone with a collection of directories may be able to tell you who has had it in the interval since your parents gave it up.
Cheers,
Nuvi

Nuvi,
Thanks for looking. Actually the reason I was in Ohio was that I bought a new Fifth Wheel and was picking it up. I have always loved the Airstream, unfortunately they are out of my price range. When I was a teenager we bought a brand new 1975 Airstream and went to pick it up at the plant in Jackson center, so this recent trip for me was a walk down memory lane.

Of course, the life -cycle cost of Airstreams is low because they last forever--take our 1960 model, for instance!

Do you know what happened to your 1975 model? Good chance it's still on the road somewhere.

Sorry, but I don't know. My mom passed away in 1979 and the trailer just sat for a couple years til my dad got around to selling it. I have no idea who bought it. I agree that the cost of them is well worth the investment, unfortunately we all have limits. The first unit my parents owned was a 1959, I wish that was still around.

It may still be around. Do you know more about the '59? Such as model name, length or interior layout? Heck, I may even have it. Was their WBCCI number still 5355 back then?

Hi Brad,
They did have the number back then, although that is all I remember. I remember that they did not purchase it new, so we are looking at the mid 60's when they owned it.

Jim ~
Do you recall any of the interior's layout, such as sleeping arrangements, booth or couch, or is it all too long ago.

Would anyone know who has the number 1966. I had that number 20 years ago for a 1966 24 ft. international.

Looking for a WBCCI Number
Hi KWF904.
Just ran across your post and since nobody replied, number 1966 is currently not in use.
If you have an AS you can join the club and request that number.
Good luck

Wow!! Very cool. This is a little strange, I know the one my parents owned was 30 or 31 ft and had twin beds. This one has a double bed. I may email the lister and see if they have any further info. Thanks for posting this

Trailer
Well the number is issued to a member....not to a specific trailer...they could have bought several units over time and used the number on all of them...my though.
I goggled the number when I saw the listing on CL and found your thread/posts on here...I signed up to contact you and let you know what I found.
Hope it helps! Cheers!

Well, I did email the seller. Not the same unit. This one was originally from California. Interesting though. What are the odds that my folks old number would show up on a 1975 Airstream (same as theirs). Thank you for contacting me. Even though it wasn't theirs, it was nice to see the old numbers again, brings back lots of memories.
