Last chance to be a charter member of the FCU

We will be submitting our charter with the WBCCI in the next few weeks so this is your last chance to be a charter member of our unit.

So if you ever wanted to be a charter member of something, or if you want to join a really great unit - now is your chance.

Dues are $1 + WBCCI dues of $55 - $56 total - a real good deal....

Thinking about it

Im not a big fan of WBCCI in general, but it sounds like the Four Corners unit has the right ideal. Im tempted to cut a check just to see what happens...... Whats the deadline again?

I have to submit our charter by 5/1 - so by next weekend I'll need to know whos in.

Each unit is different - I would think most would think the WBCCI needs some change - so we are doing our part to effect the change. I also know that FCU won't be for everybody - Our hope is that we can be a good model for simple camping and having lots and lots of fun.

From what we have seen so far - we are off to a really great start.

I am interested in becoming a charter member of the FCU. To do this, do I need to pay my 2007 WBCCI dues over again? I am currently a WBCCI Member-at-Large, and my dues are paid through 2007.

Hi Ken,

37 members, WOW!

Do you know the procedure for first time membership in the WBCCI ?

After you submit the 4CU charter to them, will they contact me regarding my new membership to the WBCCI or will it be handled by the 4CU ?

Thanks for all your hard work.

procedure for first time membership in the WBCCI

This web page contains an application form.
If you are not yet a member of WBCCI then their dues are $55 plus $1 for the FCU.
For those that are already WBCCI members but wish to affiliate with the FCU, the application can be submitted with just $1.

I have never been a member of the WBCCI, but I joined the FCU and WBCCI ( sent in application along with $56.00 ).

I'm in no big hurry other than the WBCCI numbers that I have chosen are being held for me ( I hope ) by Jodi Morris of the WBCCI.

Just curious, I'll continue to wait.

How many affiliates?

Ken----In addition to the 37 new members, how many current WBCCI members have affiliated with the FCU? I signed up as an affiliate at the Dead Horse rally.

Tom,
Having an Airstream is a requirement, but they are easy to find.
Airstream Forums Classifieds has about 60 listings including this one;

Well add us to the list. We'll put the application in the mail
tomorrow. My wife grew up in New Mexico and I was there
for 11 years. We currently live in St. Louis area, but we
visit New Mexico routinely. So, if we're going to join it should
be there!

How many members do you have in the southeast. We live in Georgia, but have never attended any of the Georgia Unit's rallies. We have camped at Top of Georgia and the park host was very nice to us and invited us to return and bring the kids bikes so they could ride in the park. However, it seems that all of the members of the GA unit are retired and have no children at home. We still work and have two children (6 & 10) at home.

I had thought of joining the WDCU when it is time to renew our membership if there are any other members in the southeast that we could rally with. We would be looking for less structured rallies, not the formal, structured, every thing is already planned out for us kind of rallies that the Georgia Unit seems to have.

Greetings Minnie's Mate,
As you might expect, the preponderance of our members are in NM, AZ, CA and CO. We do have one in MI and one in FL.
Looking at your travel map, it appears most of your travels are in the Appalachian states, not the SW.

You are welcome to join us our unit dues are only $1 but in truth, you might be better off to start your own new unit modeled after your interests. You can read a bit about us on our web page, the link is in my sig.
We are not the only WBCCI black sheep. Some folks in TX did not care for their local unit so they got together and formed a new unit called the Heart of Texas. I think it is healthy for the WBCCI to have different kinds of units, one size does not fit all.

Thanks for the quick reply. I anticipate moving to Florida in another year, so starting a new unit wouldn't be practical.
