Thanks for the reply Louise. Does that mean I can just show up at the rally? I can contact the park tomorrow and make a reservation.

as an aside, Giant City is a nice park. As fate has it, I will be coming through the area on Friday, maybe I will stick my head in and say hi.

You bet it's OK to just show up. I know they will be glad to see you. Wish we were going to be there too.

Rodney,
I know they will enjoy visiting with you too. Now I really wish we were going to be there. Meeting new people is one of the best parts of WBCCI and there may be two new folks at that rally!

Thanks so much. I'll call to make a reservation tomorrow and I'll be there as long as sites are available. I'm looking forward to seeing what WBCCI is all about.

I just noticed that you signed up just to respond to my concern and I really appreciate that. Welcome to the forums!

So sorry you have not been able to contact anyone; I am present the President of the Kentucky Unit and would love to have you join us. We are leaving in the morning for Carter Cave State Park for our annual Grandkids Rally and have several fun things planned for kids and adults, including some fun games, a service project (we are collecting non perishable food to take to the local food bank), and some quality time with our kids and airstream friends. As members you will recieve regular newsletters (also posted on our Unit Web page) which list upcoming activities and news of interest. Please consider giving us another chance and dropping us a note and/or drop in for a Unit Rally.

Thanks for the reply, and apparently joining this forum, just to do so. We do hope to attend either an upcoming unit rally, or the regional in Sept. We have read that some people love the WBCCI, and some don't. We are the type of people that are willing to see if it is a fit for us, and that is why I/We wanted to make contact. It appears your "unit dues" are a dollar, well after the buy in to WBCCI, that's an easy amount to not worry about..

So we will petition the WBCCI for membership in your unit, and hope for the best. (mostly we will be petitioning to get the number back that was on this camper before )

OK, figure I should give some "closure" to this thread, since I started it and all...

We did in fact make contact with the Kentucky unit, by both e-mail, and on here, and finally by phone. Had good contact with several members. Chose to join, got the old numbers that had been on the trailer before, or at least one set. We asked JC about 1265 and 16644, was hoping to get 1265 because they were centered better when on there last. 16644 would be a hard number to center, and apperently was way to hard for the last owner of that number/trailer combo to try.. anyways, they didn't say if the second number was available, but we got the 1265, so once the clear coat is off, those go on.

We had planned to be ready for the REgion 5 rally this weekend, but we weren't. Well we were, but Toto wasn't. Many things are fixed since we rolled her here, but some important ones aren't.. mainly no plumbing, and that gash in the ceiling. Anyways we rolled up to the rally site on Wed. since it's exactly 21 minutes from our porch, and had a great time, went back on Fri. for the Unit's Social Hour, met tons of friendly people and visited for quite some time. We are happy with our choice to meet up with them, and am sure many happy campings are in our future.

Thanks to those who gave advice and experiences.
