IBT Meeting Recordings

Save Wally has published recordings to the IBT Winter Meeting. We are again doing this in the interest of WBCCI members and prospective members having all the information. Hearing a report of a meeting is nothing like actually listening to the meetings.

You can get the meeting recordings HERE.

I hope this benefits everyone.

Listening to these recordings I am struck with the responses of some of the IBT leadership with respect to how some of the members feel about WBCCI Issues.

I was most disappointed in Past International Past President Jim Franklin's response to comment some members made about blue berets and red coats and other WBCCI traditions. He basically stated that he felt the comments made are from a small minortity of members and therefore they do not warrent a lot of attention. Jim suggested that the members who are unhappy with berets, flag cerimonies, etc...should get a winnebago and leave the WBCCI. He felt that members with problems with tradition should just "leave us old fossiles alone".

What Jim doesn't realize is that is exactly what is happening to the tune of over 1 member each day. Soon Jim will not have to worry about what the members feel about these traditions because there will not be any more members left.

Good Job by Renee!

Thanks Renee, you are a light in the darkness.

If Jim Franklin only could see how I dress when I attend "offical" WBCCI officer functions: Sweatpants, sweatshirt and my Blue Beret. And guess what, I am going to filling the shoes of Region and IBT officers in the future.

I actually thought that Renee did a good job letting that comment by Jim go without responding. I wish the information she had was made more public. I wish the presentation she made was made available to all of the members.

More recordings.

I just added a new batch of recordings to SaveWally.org. They include the discussion presented by Larry Huttle, Airstream Inc Executive to the audience of WBCCI leaders. It is what was offered as for why WBCCI will benefit from allowing MOHO's into the club.
Also we have the original motion to ammend the WBCCI Constitution to allow Four Winds MOHO's into the club.
Lastly, region 12 President Jim Elmingler on modifications to the motion above.

You can also CLICK HERE to listen to the files.

Again, I am sure you will find these topics illuminating.

If I remember correctly, weren't Jim Franklin's comments greeted with rapturous applause? They apparently all drank the Kool-Aid during the meeting.

Yes there was applause. But remember just who was attending... mostly redcoat warring, blue beret toting class "A" driving members who are so high up that they can't see the real membership base 14 miles below them!
I am glad to report that there were many down to earth individuals there as well and we have ben hearing from them that they were dismayed at the response of the croud at things like the MOHO issue. Kool-aid indeed.

There was also applause for a gentleman from Florida in the comment period following Renee's report, who said that telling members if they don't like what's going on the club to go find another (Jim Franklin's comment) was not the way for WBCCI to act. I'm sorry I didn't get that man's name, but I appreciate that he stood up and said that, and that there were a few in the audience that applauded.

I was also a little dismayed when a woman stood up and said they shouldn't have a Letters to the Editor column in the Blue Beret because people might say negative things instead of just positive things about WBCCI, and this is why Past President's have never allowed it. I guess ignorance is bliss?!!?

That was a Mr. Thompson, Big Bends, FL unit. I am not sure if he was the prez or what. But he did have it right. I bet he wasn't the only one there who was offended by that.

You know, at the Delegates meeting in Salem I remember Jim Franklin telling people to "Stand Down!" when he wanted then to shut up. Now - I did my time in the Navy, 6 years worth. That is done and I am a civilian. I damn sure don't need any stuffed shirt talking to me like that. I was offended by Jim's comment. It does go to show that folks like DO believe that the club is theirs to run as THEY see fit. We obviously don't have a say.

I rather prefer the attitude that Mr Thompson had.

Have you heard it? It was demeaning in a way. When I couple that with Jim's comments about getting out if you don't like it..... Sheesh!
