WOW, the youth were out past curfew, that's one of the reasons I took my kids to these rallies! They could be with friends in a controlled environment that was safe and be on their own for some time after dark. They need time away from adults, you try to spend 3 or 4 weeks in 30 ft with 2 teens and not let them have some freedom.
On the dope smoking, come back to 30 feet and I will know right now if that was going on in my house. Hey grand ma and grand pa wake up and smell the dope! (If that is really what was going on) I have spent 9 years with the youth of the WBCCI and unless this is very different group than the last 9 years, I have a hard time believing that was going on.
The WBCCI youth program is one of the best I have ever seen.
What time was curfew? Were they expected to be in their trailers after curfew, or could they be "with" a group of people, youth and adults, socializing?
And another thing.... where could they get to that would give them ANY cover for that activity? Wake up and smell the..... is exactly right, no way that is going on with out being smelled. Not to mention the evidence of the physical effects left that you can spot easily . So, if it was rampant, it should have been obvious to more than a "few" folks.
Just my 2 cents....
Oh, I just thought of something.... Are you sure it wasn't the Adults "partying"?
When I heard the person report this I think that it was someone who had gotten up on the wrong side of the gacho that morning. Some older folks feel threatened when they are around a group of young people. I only mentioned this earlier as part of the lighter side of the club.
OK, I agree completely with the First Lady (was OK in 1953) and the First Gentleman thing, but First Mate? Well then, we can trade in our Red Jackets for Puffy Shirts and Eye patches!
This is what happens when you cannot attend an NEU business meeting. We voted in puffy shirts and eye patches for all of our official eventsl
Leon and I had a small "Jolly Roger" flag added to each of our ZipDee Chairs last week.

Looking for a WBCCI Unit filled with fun loving folks to camp and travel with in the New England area? Well, you've just found it:
Hey grand ma and grand pa wake up and smell the dope! (If that is really what was going on).
Sounds like some of these folks may have a "squirrels nest in their univolt." LOL!
IMO, if the IBT is concerned about membership growth, they need to let the kids (and adults) attending these rallies have a fun experience to remember for the rest of their lives. This is what will create long term loyalty to the WBCCI.

I'll chill..... Sorry for the rant.
But seriously, what time was curfew and what were the expectations? Inside (in bed), outside, with adults?
You can't pay much attention to these reports. I'm actually surprised the report was done on a microphone when it was merely 'rumor.' If kids were smoking pot there I'm sure there were enough non-inhalers to know the difference. More likely kids were fooling with cigarettes if anything at all.
Too bad we've got rumors instead of straight out reports. Something else we didn't need floating out there unless it could be substantiated. But hey -- were's the fun if you have to rely on facts?
I mentioned that there was a young girl out past 1am one morning (on my way back to my trailer) only because I didn't think it was safe for a young woman to be out that late by herself. Turns out the person I mentioned it to knew the young girl -- she was traveling with her parents -- she was sitting at a picnic table across the street from her parents trailer, but she was 20 years old.
I'd still be concerned for her, but no need to call the WBCCI kid police...
Have you heard anything about the closed session that followed the live broadcast. Rumor has it that the IBT is going to take the motions from the last two years and merge them into one. That is, Change the name of Four Winds
The NEU should have a rallye on September 19th to celebrate TLAPD.
That is a great idea except we already have a rally or gathering of Airstreams for every weekend in September! We know how to have fun, and how much fun is an Airstream sitting in your driveway when you have it parked next to another Airstream?

Leo, you're showing age if you think a 20 year old can't be out at that hour
