Does the Thor Motorhome Club accept Airstreams motorhomes? I thought someone said they did not. If that is the case, why should WBCCI accept Thor's?

The Collins cure is easily available to anyone who wishes to stay, after they buy their SOB. It should not cost them anything to have one of their friends say they put them on their title. They can have any brand Motorhome they wish to buy, but just do not bring it to any WBCCI rallies at dedicated facilities, other than buddy rallies. They can attend State park or open campground WBCCI rallies with what they chose.

That seems to violate club ethics and be much more grievious than expressing an opinion that leadership is ineffectual at being fiscally efficient and retaining and recruiting members. Seems some super members, as PIPs, can do no wrong and certain members, past and current, who speak out about problems within the club, seemingly can do no right by EC's standards. Relative and yet, WBCCI being a single brand identity club is not relative but a fact represented and upheld by our constitution. Instead of changing constitutions we should be working to change the current leadership that would bend and end the club to suit their preference.

I will repeat something I have said before.

The WBCCI is an Airstream Owners club. It is what makes us unique. If the club wants to survive and grow, we must follow the lead of Airstream. They are selling to a different crowd. We must move in that direction, or we will fail.

Why look back where Airstream was? Why waste energy trying to compete with FMCA? We need to move toward events, rallies, and caravans that attract new Airstream owners.

Of course we need to serve current Airstream owners who maintain membership, but we must stay focused on the future, not the past.

Speak positively for the future!

Thumbs up

Matt, you and Richard G. have my vote, how long will we have to wait before you two occupy IP and IVP? How about running from the floor?

The MH report is seriously flawed in 2 respects.

1. of the 7 members 4 are MH owners, if they (the MH) represent 8% of the membership then only one should have been a MH owner, not 4

2. A poll or survey should have been done and included in the report with the 469 MH members to identify the need.

How many need a new one.
How many intend on keeping their current MH
How many of those think a Thor unit should be permitted
Etc......

But at this time it is moot, a motion will be presented today, it will go to the delegates next year.

So it will need a 2/3 vote, is it likely the members vote for it?

I think NOT

Arrow Revision Bylaws/Policy

Today the final report of the Revision Committee will be presented.

Included with that report will be the Revised Bylaws and Policies.

LiPets, This motion has to be killed today and not go forward!! Please do your best to fight it. We don't need another year of it! How comes you were on the new Constitution committee and it was tabled by the President but this was not?? Favoritism it seems? I am all for the Future!! But it has to better for Airstreams not Motorhomes(non Airstream). Do your best, we are listening!

The moho motion of allowing an amendment to the constitution to allow members to own any Thor Class A motorhome goes to delgates 2012 for a vote.

Early on it was recommended to dismiss the special revision and bylaws committee as "being a waste of time" and unconstitutional and to ask the next IP to do so. The current IP "took a stab" at fielding the question and did not allow the parliametarian to comment as specifically addressed by the speaker since he ordered the report and said it was his perrogative.

Issue will go to delegates meeting in 2012.

Am I correct in assuming this means it must go to the units and be voted on prior to that time??

Another year of dissension on the schedule

I missed this. There is a new standing committee. It is a technical committee. What is that?

EDIT: technical help articles in the Blue Beret. (Howie L.)

TECH HELP: To help distribute technical information and help through the Blue Beret and other electronic means.
Moving it up from a sub committee to a standing committee.

Recommended to dismiss by who?

Not sure where you're getting this from?

It was just amended to add that only an existing class A member with a lifetime membership would be permitted to get a thor.

They said this way no new member could buy a thor and join.

The underlying rational was that the club not lose current members.
