Units are under Regions, but IntraClubs aren't. IntraClubs report directly to WBCCI IBT through their individual Boards.
However, IntraClub members are also Unit members or MAL. Voting takes place through Units, not the IntraClub.
Different rules apply to Units & IntraClubs when it comes to activities and how they meet & are run.

Does the VAC hold rallies? Is there such thing as a regional intraclub (just among the units of one region)? Do you know where I can find the WBCCI rules that govern the Intraclub events?
Join the oldest and smallest unit you can find. Get any like minded folks you can find to join in and go camping. Don't worry about the old gaurd they will either join in or not. Attrition will work in your favor.

Yes, the VAC holds rallies. Typically a region will host a rally, but all VAC'rs are invited. These tend to only be 1 or 2 per year, per region. BUT, you will meet lots of other like-minded VAC'rs at these and hopefully get together at the Unit rallies in your area more frequently. Or, just meet people to go out on your own with...no rules! We look at the Unit rallies as small group campouts with friends and the once/twice a year mega-rally as a celebration. Also, you get to meet VAC'rs from other regions by parking together at the International rally.
Here's a link to the VAC website. Parts of it are still being switched over to the new format so it's a bit out of date. But the rally page is current. Several regions have rallies scheduled yet this year...
We have really enjoyed the folks we have met through the VAC. Makes alot of the negatives of "the big club" tolerable.

How would this fit in with the “wb”?? It certainly embraces Wally’s Creed. We could start our own unit, called something like Pacific Northwest Forums Unit. I think we’d have no trouble enlisting the necessary 15 people needed to start a new unit. Whether the Region President would allow it or not remains to be seen. This would instantly satisfy all our reasons to belong to the wb! I envision this unit to be similar to the WDC unit, existing and doing business in cyberspace (no off-season luncheons). I may bring this up to our group rallying in Trout Lake, WA this weekend and see what their response would be. Janet has already proposed a cyber unit on another thread……..this just gets it to a more regional basis.
Count me in. How do I join the Pacific Northwest Forums Unit? We had a great time at the Silver Falls Rally, meeting other airstreamers in a casual setting. (Would have loved going to the Trout Lake Rally, but had to work.)
2air had a great idea - take our forums member number (there is one isn't there?) and put it in BLUE on our trailers
I just heard the good news that rgesch is not resigning from her unit! Woohoo! rgesh has received support/commitment from many people within her unit and within Region One to work together on their unit. Please join me in helping to support the WMNHU and their BOD in their revitilization efforts.

This is fantastic news for the White Mountains NH Unit! Looks like I'll be renewing my assocate membership with them for 2007 after all.....

WBCCI # 7032 Region 1, New England Unit
Looking for a WBCCI Unit filled with fun loving folks to camp and travel with in the New England area? Well, you've just found it:
well perhaps this is a good thing for a local unit...
and maybe not.
for whatever reason a younger, do'er became upset with wb politics, personalities and procedures....
they threatened to quit, take the ball home and start a new game...
they spent a lot of keystrokes here whine'n about becoming a mal...
never really mal quality material anyway...
now someone has groveled enough to keep them...
politics as usual...
nothing changes...
the abusive husband says...."i'm sorry, it won't happen again"
the wounds fade and spouse gets a new car...
more wbcci sameold someold...
what you need in that unit are some meal stealers and moochers...
they get attention!
cheers

That's one way to look at it, a very negative one. Another way to look at it is that what doesn't break us only makes us stronger. By "us" I mean WBCCI. I see a lot of strength in people like R&Rgesch, who can go through what they have with their unit, the good, the bad, and the ugly, and still have it in their hearts to sit down and talk things through and re-commit themselves to this group. As those who know them have said all along, these are good leaders, the kind that we should neither disrespect nor let get away from us. Good karma to the WMNHU leadership and other Region leaders for renewing confidence and support in team rgesch!
I am an new AS owner and not a WBCCI member. However, I have been involved in the upstart of a chartered regional club for a motorcycle brand and was their 2nd President. I have to tell you it is not easy to organize and manage a club but some national organizations make it easier to manage than others. The bottom line is that the WBCCI is associated to the AS brand. The emphasis should be enjoying the comraderie of individuals who enjoy that common brand. The MC club I was involved with had folks who liked riding in groups, others liked riding solo. Some enjoyed campouts, others prefered day trips. Everyone liked to eat... There was something for everyone to do and they can be involved at any level. At the National Rally (and some of the larger regional rallies) the "Old Guard" marked their turf and the politics of "the association" was there for those who are in to that kind of thing. Those who were there for the good time had a good time. The virtual club associated with that brand also had a strong presence as well (FYI Everyone is the President). Let's face it, there are far more MC's than AS!
As a non-member, I am not here to say what the WBCCI should or should not do, but I have not gotten involved because I want to usewhat limited camping time I have to enjoy my vacation time, meet new folks, and get out and camp.
