Bailed, that’s what I see and a need to be seen doing it. I have more respect for those that go their own way without all the advertisement. Just my 2 cents, most likely not worth the 2 cents to most.
So Ed, You don't see it. That is fine. How have you brought about change from within the club? My observations of you is status quo.
My 2 cents are worth something. Because they are in my pocket and not paying for a business meeting for people who could care less about me or what I want to get out of a club. In a few weeks when the real numbers come out and slap your past president privilege into reality you just might be talking a different story. Just hold your breath a little longer for the Mid Winter IBT's are right around the corner. Reality is coming and it won't be very pretty. For the next three days I am a member. My number currently is #7183. As of the first of Jan my member number is I262T123. Up until the first I can say anything I want about the WBCCI. After that date I will say nothing. In the end I think you still will not get it. Just my other 2 cents.

Again ADVERTISEMENT!
I agree it won't be pretty. But status quo? I don’t think so. I’m hosting a rally, building a caravan, challenging my Region officers, and it goes on and on, I’m on the inside working for a better WBCCI, I’m not bailing and advertising it. BUT I have been through a hell of a lot more than grass vs. pavement or Happy Hour treats. Now that's deep......

Cool number, not sure what it is all about, I'm going with tradition.

Oh ya thanks for reminding me that I'm a past President, sort of forgot about that.

Can't wait for 1-1-10 then all the ADVERTISEMENT will end. (God I hope it will end but betting it will go on and on and on and on………………………)

Sorry Ed

Have to say Ed, I've just gotten started.... this whole WBCCI IBT problem and how to change it - that it cannot be changed from the inside and all you guys with experience know it (bang head on wall).. so, I'll be here ADVERTISING that I bailed way after 1 Jan.... and accoring to you, wasting my time, reading your replies while you are obviously wasting your time reading..... funny isn't it.. my cause is more than about Bailing... it's about telling the IBT who only takes advantage of its members that they aren't doing that with me anymore.

Come Winter IBT, when they up the dues to $75, and project the clubs losses... I can't wait to hear about your changes that they won't vote on or listen to anyway.

With your Resume in an above post - are you running for one of those paying IBT positions? No wonder you're staying on!

and yes, a Past President too - whatever that gets ya!

Rob

Don't worry Ed, I know in my heart you are part of the solution. I'm rooting for you. No matter what happens to your club, you are always welcome in The Airstreamer's Club

Mr. Emerick,

I am "inside" and wanting a better run organization. The time has come for the IBT to respond to the membership. Best I can tell the club is dying and the IBT seems to be pushing the gurney to the morgue. It appears the IBT cannot see the patient, much less communicate with it.

Rob and Frank (and others) have every right to speak out about any perceived abuse of the WBCCI by the IBT or any other. Today or tomorrow. The club bears Wally Byam's name. While I was not there, I understand that Mr. Byam ran his caravan's in a very democratic fashion. The club is also associated, by its very nature, with Airstream, Inc. and every Airstream owner. So member or not, if you own an Airstream, you can speak your mind. (That's also in the Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution.)

Rob, Frank, et al.,

Speak up, speak proudly, speak often. While I am still a WBCCI member, my better half is questioning why. And I'm not sure how long I will be justifying it. But for now, I am going to represent my Unit the best I can, work for fun and fellowship, and for the moment at least, wonder where my $55 goes.

Thank you gentlemen,

Ashley Coco

20,855 views and not one single reply from anyone in power(except a few past presidents). Why is that so odd to me?

Rob, I am still thankful that you offered to go with me to WalMart that cold rainy night, to get that 20lb propane tank, during the CBR in '06. Had Brooke and I not been members of the WBCCI, we would never have met you, Zoe, Star, Peter and all of the rest of the good folks of the WDCU, however the WDCU is what the WBCCI should be in my opinion; what I saw at the Salem International in 2006 was the antithesis.

The only way to effect change within the WBCCI is for the members to quit. I don't buy into the argument that change is made at the lower levels or to ignore what's going on at the IBT level and just have fun; I can do that without wasting $55 per year, soon to be $75.

When membership numbers become critical, the IBT will be left with two clear choices:

1) Understand that there is a serious problem and make the changes necessary to turn the WBCCI back into a profitable club.

2) Pretend nothing is wrong, raise dues, keep the status quo and keep losing members, until it becomes fiscally unfeasible to keep the sinking behemoth afloat.

So far, choice #2 seems to be the path the IBT wants to take.

De Oppresso Liber.

I will listen with great interest to the broadcasts of the meetings at this year's IBT. I usually listen to the meetings live and then listen again to critical portions of the meetings when they become available on the WBCCI website.

I'm our unit President this year, but I am very likely to be part of the group withholding 2011 dues until after the 2011 winter IBT. No progress, no pay! If enough of us do that, maybe it will get their attention.

What is the date and time of the broadcast?

I was listening to the vote at Perry for the MHs. I could feel the tears of the woman tallying to count through the computer.

Looking for the same results this time.

A great strategy for the future, I second your idea.

Lightbulb Hmmm...

20,000+ views? I'm not so sure that there aren't just a handful of people (posters?) viewing each time it pops up (after every post) ~ the rest check in once to see what it's all about just once in awhile. It's certainly not 20,000 people!

Whatever ~

A very interesting point. Right now it is 21 and of that there are 6 GUESTS.

Who can they be. They are surly not individuals interested in buying an Airstream. They must have some interest in the WBCCI

Scroll to the bottom of the page and check it out. Guests are not named.
