Mistral Blue, You would still have to pay a day use fee.
OR
I am going to enjoy fifty mile views and hope to free load on some courtasy parking for few days longer. Enjoying some tranquil time in the country does the soul a lot of good.

Frank, here's the true link to the view the WBBB attendees will enjoy!
I don't see any frivolous spending in that view!

I'm lookin' at so many acres of really inexpensive parking...have to decide on dinner options, whether or not to curl up with a book or a DVD...way I see it...money up in dues, membership down...I like my friends made thru WBCCi, but I also believe that they will be there if WBCCi isn't, and if I choose to opt out, the camping will continue...I just wanna be there...AND, I will...ya'll can join us out here in Quartzsite, anytime you want to...let me know, and I'll pull another hot dog or chicken breast outta the freezer...got cheap beer, and friends who provide margaritas and BLOODY MARYs...other side dishes are optional, but always appear...the politics of the WBCCi suck, but CAMPING goes on...
Just curious, but do the 'sponsored' camping events really cover any liability, or is that IBT hype? Is liability necessary if you have a universal form that releases liability...? I am camping, but the anger and frustration I'm picking up on is distressing...do we need an organization to go camping? NO. Do we need the forums to communicate? YES. and we are...Do we need a new organization(WBCI>>>???)...maybe...but I'm still gonna camp, and I'm not gonna quit camping...and NO ONE can stop me from camping with my friends...sanctioned, or not, Quartzsite is an annual thing, and will continue, even if I'm the only one to attend...and, yes, I'll be there...bring wood...we'll need it...m

Leo,
Rob's leaving has stirred up more change than we have seen in a long time... The threat of some competition has some crazy things happening.
Charlie has actually given Tim, Kimber and I our access to the WB forum back... that is akin to the earth moving.

Please keep us informed as to what is going on over there as I canceled my membership last week. He had removed my first tread and it didn't seam worth the time.

"Rob's leaving has stirred up more change than we have seen in a long time... The threat of some competition has some crazy things happening."
IMHO, it is not necessarily "change" that is occurring just yet, or "threat of competition" being any impetus. It may be more that the "I'm OK so you're OK", mirror reflection is being distorted by the publication of what appear to be unethical practices by those at the top of the WBCCI. Preliminary actions to reverse previous decisions may just be initial attempts to appease the masses and stem the tide.

At first glance everyone would assume and hope that this was a safe statement.
3 Years ago I, as a WBCCI member attending our first WBCCI rally, invited a Brand New Airstream owner to accompany us to a WBCCI rally, 5 members in attendance before we got there, for the welcoming and experience. We were both met by a Storm Trooper that stopped us before we could park. He demanded that our guest was not WBCCI and that just his presence at the rally would cancel the insurance for all, NO NUMBERS NO WELCOME. We parked and Trooper did not let up for the rest of the evening causing our guest to leave a 6 am the next day.
Trooper is now the membership chairman for WBCCI so watch where and whom you camp with.

It looks to me that the current membership chairman is Teresa Taylor-Tenberge. Since you said HE Perhaps this is a PAST membership chairman?
I am basing this on the membership column in the dec. BB

I stand corrected. Off by a year.
It has been said that I was a day late and a dollar short. I guess they were right.

Howie, sounds like great recruiting techniques... no wonder the WBCCI club is losing members in droves... with receptions like that... you'll NEVER get a reception like that from ME. Truly sorry those new airstream owners that that is how they were welcomed...

Wbcci
Old meaning of WBCCI, maybe
W=Wally
B=Believed in
C=Comforting
C=Camping
I=Interests
New recent meaning???? Maybe
W=We
B=Blaze
C=Courses
C=Commanding
I=Insolvency
It does seem that the vast majority of members, "had enough" of the past but still would love to belong to a club, that serves it's MEMBERS with respect, dignity and provides "fun" for all.
That.............Is what a good club is all about.

Winter IBT?
I love the part after the Rabble comment! We aren't cattle!
I couldn't help but think of the situation with the WBCCI when I was watching this tonight....
I just love Jimmy Stewart - and George Bailey too - one of my heroes!
Merry Christmas to all you Airstreamers out there! I love our wonderful Hobby and Adventures - it's truly a Wonderful Life we have!

No doubt, the suggestion to boycott the International would get attention even if the reduction is small. But officials would have to make the connection between cause and effect.
Most members won’t support a boycott or leave the club but delaying tactics do get attention.
It’s too late to withhold dues for 2010, and few are going to resign because it is a good club that should be kept alive. However, what if next year a substantial number delay paying dues until after the January meeting. The membership directory will be smaller- -that sends the message and creates a record- -as a major indicator of declining membership.
But no harm will be done because people will pay their dues in January and no one gives up the benefits of membership.
