Flag Question

We're new to the WBCCI, like the flags, and want to fly some. Although I've been reading the rules, and the amendment #12 about flags, I cannot find the answer to my question in there. I understand the flag rules about what flags are to be flown in the position of honor, etc., and the statements of what are "approved" flags. However, if you read the rules, and the amendment, it never states that non-approved flags CANNOT be flown.

What will happen to me if I fly a "non-approved" (one in good taste of course) flag on my trailer? Will I be excommunicated, asked to remove the flag, asked to leave, beat about the head and shoulders with the flag and pole, or simply ignored?

All of the above. You missed the one about having the air let out of your tires.

You could resign from the WBCCI and fly any flag you want.

Well hopefully Jim had his tonge planted firmly in his cheek when he said that. Steve, don’t worry so much. Fly the flags that make you happy and enjoy yourself and your friends. Remember, we are a camping club. Join a local unit and participate as much as you’re able. You will only get out of the club what you put into it. Dan

Just fly the dang things how you want and *&#^^ the rules.... Who really cares how they are fly, It's about camping and having fun, not about the right way to fly your flags...

I've been in the WBCCI for five years and I've never had anyone be inappropriate with me because of our flags and I have made a number of mistakes over that time period. I've flown our state flag upside down and I've flown the U.S. flag in the wrong position. No one said anything except for a close friend who came and whispered to me both times that I had the one flag upside down and the other in the wrong place. He was being helpful, not hurtful. I'm not going to sit here and try to tell you that no one will ever upset you in some way. It is like in the rest of living life. There are all sorts of folks out there and one of them might be at the rally where you are, but it has not been my experience that someone would try and cause you any problems.

Naw, once they saw your tractor, you'd only be banned for eternity, perhaps longer.

Not so much. A camping club with rules on how to fly flags is a little out of my comfort zone, your mileage may vary. Flying our nations flag properly is the only flag rule I abide by. Not a knock on the WBCCI just not my cup of tea.
