Flags

Is it time to put up the WHITE flag and surrender this thread?
Maybe to the RULES.

62,

Uh. . . not sure that's a true statement. Referring to the Blue Book section on Flags (page 54) over on the WBCCI site, I see that the rule is still in place,

"2.Only official national flags of North American nations with units and members residing in those nations, plus state and provincial flags; and the official flags of the WBCCI and approved unit and Intra Club flags and pennants shall be flown or displayed at official events and functions of the WBCCI."

(Bold face mine)

It certainly appears that this rule is no longer enforced, although I supposed it could still be used as the basis for a grievance if somebody wanted to throw you out of the club.

Cheers,
Nuvi

In fact, I believe some of the WBCCI leadership has been very vocal about the Airforums.

????
Mark, you are correct I do remember that happening thanks for reminding me.

Well, those pictures were taken at the WDCU installation. I would say that was an official WBCCI event. I guess I was in clear violation and should be brought up on charges. Please by all means, my number is #7183.

You had better hurry, you only have 30 days after the event to file a grievance.

So I can conclude you feel it is your right to piss off yourself?

Thanks for your input. Yours has been the most informative yet, to me. I do know the flag protocal, and the flag that I want to fly that I had a question about, is a United States Military type flag, and I could not find any mention of such in the rules and amendments.

My orginal question was an honest one, because I really did not know being new to the club. I'm so new that I have not received my numbers as yet, and because of my inexperience I honestly did not want to offend anyone. I know that club officers, unit officers, and past officers fly those flags on the right, and did not want to be in error in the club's eyes by flying my military flag in that position.

Thanks to all that have responded to my question.
Steve,

You had an honest question and I don't want to scare you off. If you haven't read what the Blue Book has to say about flags, you can find it here:

http://www.wbcci.org/documents/ACF323.DOC

Once upon a time if you were flying an "unauthorized flag" it was likely some self-appointed "WBCCI cop" would bring it to your attention. Those days are largely gone as this thread indicates. If you fly the U S flag in the position of honor I doubt that you will hear a word from any one.

Welcome to the WBCCI - hope you get your membership packet soon! - and hope you enjoy the club!

See you down the road,
Nuvi

If you resemble the aforementioned remark this New York City cowboy suggests you fly the New York City flag. You can fly it anyway you want and nobody will care anyway. Just don't mess with my hat. I support the right to arm bears.

It is all good, you posted some great pictures of flags flying in the wind, nice photography. Airstreams look best when dressed with flags.

Do they have rules about how to shi* and how much tp I can use... Come on>> old timers sitting around with nothing to do... When I make it to a rally I might just fly a few flags in their direction..... Man I'm gonna get myself in trouble I'm shutting up now

"Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment"

BUT "If it doesn't seem to be worth the effort it probably isn't".

That was my question HOW DID THE MILITARY get into the picture. I thought it Was Wally BYRAN Caravan Club. Its not about campin, its about money and how much the higher ups can pull the wool over members eyes and have someone else pay thier campin and rally fees.
Its my opinion This is the USA last I looked and I am entitled to my opinion and the right to voice that opinion. Wake UP AMERICA!
