Denco Motion fails
The Denver Colorado Unit Motion, which was mailed to all Units in May 2011, has not received the number of votes needed to pass. The final vote was 31 to ratify and 19 rejected with a total count of 50 votes.
The Blue Book states that 2/3 of the club's units are needed to ratify the proposal within a 1 year time frame.

Great system when a unit doesn't vote it's no vote!!!
Pass the Revision, vote yes!

It says a lot when only 50 units out of 120 or so will even take the trouble to vote when given a year to do so.

Unfortunately, only 50 units votes, but still 62% is less than 67% necessary to pass.

I understand, but even if you only counted the units voting, the motion did not pass.

I expect a proposed change to the revision will be similar to the DenCo Amendment. It will be interesting to see if the Units agree to this change.

It is true, at least from my perspective, that the new constitution kind of put the DenCo motion into an odd situation. Before the new one was brought up, it was pretty easy to see the role and function of the DenCo proposal. Afterwards, it became harder.

With the drop of attendance there might be quite a few units not represented.
At this point it looks like no one from the Tennessee unit is going and the search for an alternate is on for the second year running.
WE would be going, and would have gone last year if three amp had not been eliminated and the price raised $200.
See you at the Birthday Bash

As I recall, the delegate has to be a member of the same region in addition to being an associate member.

Let us hold the bums to this when it come to the vote on the vote on the MOHO issue. They put it in writing so it must be true. An abstention is a NO VOTE. Unfortunately that may work against us on the Revision issue
There may be some gamesmanship going on here Barry. Is it 2/3 of the units counted as a unit or 2/3s of the membership counted as individual members. Has the WBCCI adopted a "Constitutional Convention" system of voting. Looking at some of the results units have posted here for the MOHO issue there is a potentially significant difference here and the question should be answered before the vote.
Rick please work at finding an alternate delegate because I believe your unit is for the Revision. I hope those other unit that are not sending a delegate will also work at finding an alternate. You have had 2 offers here so it should not be a hardship to find one.

The DenCo motion and the MH motion are covered by two different sections in the Constitution, and different rules apply. The DenCo motion needed 2/3 of all the units in the club to vote yes, with each unit having 1 vote. The magic number was around 82 units to pass.
The MH motion is going to the delegates which means it needs 2/3 of the members represented by the present delegates and voting. My interpretation of the "and voting" is that any abstentions are counted as "not voting" and not used in the 2/3 calculation.
