Dinners and advertising...

Dealer closest to our Unit (Silicon Valley Calif) does actively support the Unit of WBCCI (though has some interesting sales techniques according to Silver Loaf..). Provides display ad and fees in hand typed/copied mailed newsletter each month, and free dinner at annual rally at non-descript campground down the street, with no other regional attractions besides visiting the dealership...

There are 3 large Airstream dealerships within 90 miles, and aggressive price shopping is possible. Probably makes a difference.. All maintain at least 5 to 10 new trailers in inventory.

The San Diego Unit is in the early development of a relationship with our local dealer, www.revolutionrv.com. Co-founder Rod Winklepleck has been very supportive of our unit. We have provided a unit flyer to be given to new Airstream owners and we have linked each others websites (www.airstreamsandiego.com).

I would say my local dealership, Roger Williams Airstream, is very involved. The manager of the dealership is the president and founder of our unit, "Heart of Texas Camping Unit". David, more than once, has done some minor field work on some of our rigs during a campout. Now that's service.

According to Cindy Reed this program was developed by Region 9 several years ago. She says more and more Units are using it.

Why in the world are these things not easily available on the WBCCI site. Why is it not promoted more effectively? It seems once again there is information that would be useful to and informative for the membership in general but trying to track it down often gets to be a real treasure hunt. I will say thought that when I email the staff at HQ I almost always get a prompt answer.

Thanks Diane. I've never heard of this although I guess its not surprising. Unfortunately we hold all of our business meetings during rallies and I've attended about 5 rallies over the last 3 years. It sure would be nice if their web site could be used for these types of things.
