From what I understand with regard to this years election, and Leo G. running for the Nominating Committee, that information was not forwarded to all Regions that he was even running. So many Units could not even vote on the issue. His resume was withheld from the Blue Beret, even though it was submitted long before the dead line.

Looks like if nothing else EC7 still know how to keep the Trains on schedule.

I be leave I mentioned this before but I will mention it again. The Membership book now has e mail addresses for a majority of the membership. Any future campaign of anyone outside the inner circle should send notification to the membership via e mail. There is no way they could sequester ones intent after that. They may deny access to the Beret and official channels but the facts would be presented to the membership.

Leo did send out his resume to all regions and it is believed to all unit presidents however the problem is "block voting" where if a person got 51 votes and another 50 then the one with the most votes get 101 votes by the delegate..
this is not right nor is it ethical, but is is a means whereby selected units can control an election.

BTW, the IP refused to allow Leo's cdandiate statement to be published in the blue beret even though he sent in the $380+ money that the IP required. in other words the IP censored what could and could not be published even though that same IP told people they could have their candidate info put in the BB.

I wonder what Wally would have thought about all this high handed "justice".
One of the reasons why I let my membership end.

Air-streaming is meant to be fun.

Just more reason to not renew my membership this year.

This thread is in the WBCCI-topic subforum open to all AIR members.

Please, please, please... We do strive for some decorum without having rules for every possible situation. I feel that 'Be Nice' covers what I'm trying to request from posters in this thread.

Thanks,

I heartily agree with Bob CanoeStream: Just a smidgen of decorum would certainly be helpful. We don't need to turn AirForums into an RV.net-style screaming match.

That said, what I was looking for when I saw that this thread had come alive again was new information. As far as I can tell, nothing new has happened; it's all a rehash of matters that folks who've kept up with this thread have been aware of for some time now.

What I would like to see is a new thread, perhaps several of them:

-What fun things are happening at the International? (Pics welcome!!)
-What ugly things are happening (other than the poop dumping incident)?
-Any new movements or new impediments toward change?

Lynn

Many people have asked me what really happened to cause the greivance in the first place and many also expressed concern about the conduct of our leadership not only in my case but with the interference with the election process and about the +/-$100,000 loss. The hole point is that nothing has been done to correct the major problems that I gave an opinion on. People should read my report and they will find that it contains much info that was never told before and should clear up some of the miss-statements and untrouths presented by some people on this issue. Sorry if I offended some, but leadership should be working for the benefit the membership and not for their own ego enhansement.

I remember reading in the Blue Beret that one could run from the floor, but they would have to travel at their own expense to the mid-winter IBT meeting to be interviewed and there was no guarantee that the candidate would be interviewed if they did AND that they would have to pay for their own resume to be in the Blue Beret. While those recommended by the nominating committee would not have to pay for their resumes to appear in the Blue Beret, and I assume wouldn't have to appear at the mid-winter IBT meeting for interviews.

That sounded a lot like the cards are stacked against anyone that is not a part of the good-old boy group and was one of the reasons I was on the fence about renewing my membership.

I forgot to ask Leo what happened to the $380.00, was it returned or are they adding theft to censorship?

All this BS is exactly why we no longer belong to the WBCCI. We enjoy traveling and camping, not petty politics. WBCCI needs to grow up and get a life.
