fire dance

pictures are gorgeous. We have tried to make the colors in the fire too, but your pictures really show it off well. Too bad the Blue Beret didn't have a copy of one of those to include with the tip. BTW the members seem to enjoy a long life, they must only warm up their backsides at the fire instead of putting their heads into it.

Enjoy the show.

As far as I have been told - the copper stops the rubber hose from burning in a split second allowing certain gasses to form which normally would not at core temps. The gasses escape through the crimped ends into the flame to creat some pretty neat colours.

It is a GREAT TIP!!!! but we too found out before the tip arrived in the Blue Beret.

Skating party tonight at my house...this looks pretty cool and would give our bonfire a nice touch. Can any of you tell me....would regular exhaust hose or rubber radiator hose work instead of the garden hose ?? Thanks!

It's true....I am fouling the planet with my motor car. But I am going to keep
trying to foul it up as little as possible. I can do with out colored fire.

Colours great..

Sharon.. we did so enjoy the campfire and I don't recall inhaling any smoke .. I have to agree with Sharon on her post.. we may as well live in a bubble.. second hand smoke will kill for sure.. lets start there.. keeping our children and grandkids free from this.. Annie

Still, I don't think I want to hangout too close to burning rubber hoses, even if they are encased in copper tubing. After all, I go camping to get away from my neighbors and their stinky burn piles, no point in subjecting myself to anymore than I have to!

Aren't there presto-logs that burn in pretty colors? I wonder how those work. Come to think of it I haven't seen those for a long time, maybe they don't make them anymore.

I imagine by inserting hot dogs or marshmallows inside the garden hose before placing it inside the copper tubing would create a great slow roasted campfire snack that is quite tasty. But for those who are tied to more traditional roasting techniques, roasting food products in the brightest section of the blue flame may create a lovely aftertaste.

I am curious if the burning garden hose could be connected to a 2 gallon bucket of water, which in turn was fitted with several mouthpieces. After a few hits, I bet one would continue to see the pretty colors long after the fire went out; all without the use of any illegal substances.

It’s not your father’s Blue Beret.
