I would much rather see them where they belong on the AS skin. Even in their current condition, they look good. From a distance. Don't get too close or you will notice they are not aligned and all the creases from the 17 times we stuck them and unstuck them to get them straight (yet we still failed). I am not concerned about sticking numbers on my AS. Those numbers will be there forever. If they fade, I will remove them and put new ones on.

My biggest gripe is that in the 21st century there are simple ways to get these numbers printed on paper backing to make installation easier. If I ordered replacements I am paying for them, so why not charge whatever it costs to have them that way? Why continue to sell individual digits in a very flimsy 3M film?

Things that make you go hmmmmmmm....

red numbers.

Many put the numbers on plexiglass but that is not the real Airstream way. It works well for rallies but not for driving down the road and seeing another member of WBCCI. Also, by having them mounted, it just might prevent your AS from being stolen as it is easier to identify.
We had ours made by a "sign guy" on 1 sheet. They are 6" high, 4" wide and 2" thick. Digits are 1" apart.

It would help if all 4 numbers were together on one backing.
Surely applying 1 thing straight and true is easier than aligning and applying 4, 5, or 6 things.
Maybe take the current numbers or trailer to a sign, decal, or print shop so they'll have the size, don't, and color to make new ones from- on a single piece of backing-
Maybe have a pro install them-

Good to know though! Much easier and more precise.
I only found out when I wrote to Rita Squier and asked Steve!

I did mine just like WBCCI said to place them. If you need new ones they cost $10 bucks for a set.Click image for larger version

I mounted mine in the window in the rear and on the plastic stone-guard in front. Glass is easy....plastic was a challenge.
We have lots of members in our unit that put up the numbers only at the rally or campground. I would rather know the AS I see on the road is actually a member, rather than just assuming it is a "baldy"

I'm not for sure but I was told why you put your numbers on your trailer is so that in case of an emergency first responders can get to you at rallies.

To be part of a AS GROUPS you need to join, and the numbers are like a magnet with AS people which is great, you meet lots of great people.

A must if you own a AS.

The numbers are 6 inches high, not sure of the font, I will ask the Office staff if they know.

As for printing the numbers on one sheet, this could be done, but the club would have to buy the equipment to cut the numbers. Currently they just grab the numbers from a pile and put then in the membership packet. They get the numbers from local printer, they don't cut them on site.

If anyone really wants this, like anything in the WBCCI, get in contact with your Region President and make a request. The board is meeting in a few weeks at the upcoming International rally.

Big Red Numbers - size and font?

Now THIS is what I'm talking about. Even I can't mess up this install.

spacing looks a bit close,, they recommend 2 inches between numbers, but that is nice. seem like wbcci just get a bunch of number and send them out. Not really a custom make on each set.

too bad it would be nice to get that already spaced like they like.

This might be something that someone could bring up to the WBCCI poobahs as a member benefit. Foretravel's Motorcade provides the sheet with the proper numbers on it. The sheet is large enough that five-digit numbers easily fit. The number goes with the member, not the coach, so they have to print new number sets whenever a member buys a new(er) coach. The cost of those numbers is considered part of the club costs, covered by the annual dues. The factory will install the numbers free of cost. Perhaps WBCCI could set up something similar. Since I'm not a member (still haven't found a buyer for our Foretravel) I can't make the suggestion, but maybe someone who is a member could.

Providing a sheet of numbers would certainly help get those numbers up properly.
