Squier Design Numbers
I am curious about these numbers. How do they stay on? Do you take them off when traveling and put them back on when you get to your destination? Would rain or the wind cause them to come off?
Sounds like an easy solution.

The club numbers from WBCCI are permanent or close to it. If you buy a new trailer you can get a new set of numbers. They will not blow off and are not affected by water. That is why you can still read them on 50 year old trailers. Jim

The Squier numbers are on a vinyl sheet. You clean and dampen the surface, place them and squeegee out the bubbles. I guess it's static or surface tension that keeps it on. They've stayed in place through wind, rain and several washings. These are the same things that are used on race cars, so driving with them on is not an issue. If you're looking for easy, this is it.

Any Advice on replacing WBCCC No's
Thanks everyone for the information, I purchased a plastic spatula from Lowe's and as soon as it gets warm enough, I will take my heat gun and spatula and breeze through this task. P.S. I had attempted to get the original WBCCI No.'s but they was not available. Thanks again everyone.

Just had Jackson Center install regular ones and try to correct the damage to the skin. Can't be done :-(

I'm going to reach out to Squire (a great company no doubt) to let them know they shouldn't recommend this for Airstreams.
If I had just placed them on a window I would have been fine. But this ugly corrosion will forever have to be treated with CorrosionX to keep it from growing any further. It can't be fixed.
I loved the simplicity but the damage absolutely isn't worth it. Please learn from my mistake and just don't do this to your trailer.

Squire is great to deal with, but that said, we too experienced the trailer skin issue in using the static cling numbers. We had to replace a couple of sheets that blew off and eventually they deteriorated anyway. We have since mounted the individual numbers.

Just the other day, I put my numbers on my new Airstream. I used Squire to make the decal for me and the application was so easy--much easier than trying to put up the individual numbers, and Squire insured that the letter spacing was correct for the font and size. Being able to tape the transfer sheet in place, then get off the ladder and see how it looks made the job very easy.

Please look just a few replies up. Several of us (myself included) experienced ugly corrosion from the vinyl cling on sheet.
My recommendation - don't do it.
If you HAVE to do it that way, clean the surface before applying, use only for brief trips and take it off between use.
But really - don't do it at all. Get the numbers from WBCCI and use them only.
I emailed Squire about this problem and recommended they let people know before buying. I'm guessing that didn't happen. I've never heard back from them since raising this issue to their attention. They shouldn't sell these to Airstreamers.
The picture below shows the IRREPAIRABLE damage (according to Jackson Center) and the new WBCCI numbers installed.

My Squire numbers have been on for over a year. No signs of corrosion. But my rear numbers fell off somewhere on the highway.

SteveSueMac, I didn't use Squire's vinyl cling or static cling, I used an adhesive decal they made for me. Thus, the numbers are stuck on just like the numbers from WBCCI. The advantage of having Squire build the decal was that all four numbers went on as a unit instead of one at a time.
We've been having a discussion in the Florida Unit about mounting numbers. I'm the newsletter editor and put a link to your post and picture in our May edition, as an example of what not to do.

Oh, that may be a better solution. I LOVED the simplicity of the cling sheet and it looked great (for a while). The ability to put all (individual) numbers up in a pre-pattern would be VERY helpful. I don't know the material of the WBCCI supplied numbers compared to the Squire materials but hopefully the Squire version isn't the same as the cling version.

Oh - and always glad to serve as an example of what not to do :-) I think most people figure that out early and pretty much do the exact opposite of what I recommend :-)

I cheated. My Airstream had very distinct ghost numbers. I called the club office and requested the same numbers. They went on easily without all the hassle of trying to line up and space them correctly.

I went through all the rigamarole of measuring and drawing lines. The 8 was still very hard to apply.
