Can someone tell me where a copy of Don Shafer's CBL report can be seen along with Denco's rebuttal?

Forrest, Thanks for Posting. The arguments made by the Denver unit make perfect sense. It is too bad they were not taken positively as they were presented and acted upon.

Thats because the leadership does not take member input as valuable. Remember its their club. They have the power of the purse and are not likely to give it up. Everyone in the club has a choice, you can either pay and continue to be abused or you can leave! The choice is yours.

When they finally wake up the membership will be gone and no amount of government will fix it.

The problem is not the rules, the problem is the whole premise for defining a relationship among friends. People want to have fun and get away from the rules. The best units to belong to are the ones where the blue book was thrown in the trash and people made it their mission to be neighborly! You guys (and gals) know those units because you belong to them. those are the units that had the highest growth rates in the last ten years. they are successful and that breeds more success. Throw the whole set of rules in the trash get rid of the national offices, keep the admin in the central office for maintanence and be done with it!

Units are their own entity and cost far less per year than maintaining a huge beauracracy! Power to the Units!

I see there haven't been any posts to this thread since the official "Region 11 Amendment" package was sent to unit presidents by HQ in late May.

The proposed new, improved WBCCI constitution did not happen at International, so the Region 11/DenCO/Forrest amendment--what ever you want to call it--is still very much alive.

Our unit will be voting on this motion at our fall business meeting in September, and I hope other units will do the same.

I believe Forrest has stepped aside so someone with a good grasp of the current Constitution is going to have to step forward and champion this effort. With someone staying on top of this the Leadership will let it die a natural death or have someone write a bogus report stating it is violation of Ohio law.

Our unit will also vote in September. I'm not sure 2/3 of the units will discuss it. Let's hope.

It is on the agenda for the Oregon units annual meeting the end of August.

Northern Illinois Approved at our May Rally and forwarded to Jackson Center. Cindy say she received 11 units' votes, as of a month ago.

If it is the Fl. unit controlled by residents of Travelers Rest you will not hear about it as the concentration of current and X Leadership there fears this like the plague. In fact, as noted above, I would not be surprised that Barracks Lawyer there writes a report stating it is not legal under Ohio law .

You may have not been following thinks close enough to keep track of the players.

The "Barracks Lawyer" I refer to is the current Chairman of the WBCCI Constitution Committee who wrote a report presented to the Board during this years International that the Revised Constitution as presented was not in compliance with Ohio law even though Revisions had been reviewed and declared correct by the Clubs Ohio Lawyer. I doubt that a member of the Leadership will take the WBCCI to court.

He had no standing in law when that report was written and probably has no standing in law now.

You may be caught up in the aftermath of one fight not to realize that another is tacking place. For the most part both Forrest's amendment and the Revision Committee are trying to bring about change within the WBCCI. Now that any action on the Revision has been postponed for at least a year this amendment should be pursued under the current Constitution.

There is no reason to give up the fight for change lest we just want to continue sending money down the rat hole.

Jim, I have not heard anything either from the FL Unit 027 but I'm sure it will be brought up this Fall before the annual meeting. Not sure when the vote will take place or how, but it will be voted on.

Not sure which unit you are talking about in FL HowieE but it ain't ours!

Yes, 027, we were pretty much on top of the revision vote. Much discussion and some turmoil so I hope all is well. jim

I posted to NOVA forum today as a reminder. I hope the next meeting and vote in favor of the Denco amendment will be forthcoming ASAP.
