All in "Moderation"

All in “Moderation”

Well, I guess I was a little too much for the “5 Admins” over at the WBCCI forums. I was told by one of the “5 Admins” the following:

At this point, I will no longer even try to post things over on the WBCCI Forums. If I’m allowed, I will look, but not touch! The leadership of the WBCCI said it was a place to give feedback to the leadership and membership of the club. That statement appears to be true, as long as you follow the party line, do not present facts and question the leadership on the job they are doing.

Below you will find the post they felt were “Over the Top” and had to be “Moderated” in blue/red

About Leo getting the boot
[Moderator edit]

Cortes talking about Quality/Quantity

[Moderator edit]

Spending by the IBT/EC7
[Moderator edit]

Mileage Reimbursement
[Moderator edit]

Oh well, I guess I’m just an “Over the Top” kind of guy. It's truly sad what is being allowed to happen over on the WBCCI forums.

Paul,
It appears the post under mileage reimbursement was sent after Charlie closed the thread this morning. Interestingly, while it did not appear on the forum, It did show up as a new post notification in my e mail, However it was minus item # 4 referencing what should be done with the ad money

The major problem over there is no one wants to offend the guy that controls the site for fear he will pick up his ball and go home leaving a few people with egg on their faces.

CROSS POSTING about issues or PUNISHMENT or mod behavior from ONE FORUM...

onto ANOTHER forum, is generally considered bad taste...

and some form of trolling (( there is a specific net term for this, but it escapes me ))

and OFTEN a violation of the TOU for either or both forums...
________

as much as MANY of us might NOT like it, the mods here DELETE threads or posts HERE....

when the focus IS complaining about the MODs actions HERE.

even when those complaints are MODERATE or JUSTIFIED or REASONABLE.

(ask me how i know this...)

and i am confident OUR MODS or OWNER would not appreciate posts ON SOME OTHER FORUM...

attacking or venting or debating their actions HERE.
________

this is a long time tactic (complain on some OTHER forum) in the webworld...

but MANY forums have NOW made it grounds for DISMISSAL to beech about mod/owner behavior on some other site...

fyi.

cheers

I give up!

2Air,

I’m only showing what “I” posted and so asking the question is there anything wrong with these posts?

I personally did not see where they were “Over the Top”. I’m still not understanding what I did wrong to get placed on moderation and wondering if others have had the same problems for post that are in my mind not offensive.

I see people post the same words/post all the time on different forums. I was unaware there was a problem doing that. Now I know.

I do find it funny that Rick Davis saw the on post “minus” the fourth line about moneys from the forums going back to the WBCCI.

I’m asked as a member from the WBCCI Leadership to use the WBCCI forums as a way to discuss, ask about and communicate about issues facing the WBCCI, I did just that. And base on “how” I did it, was placed on “moderation”. As I said, I will no longer post on that forum.

As you seen, I’ve cut back a bunch on this forum as well.

I’m at the point on just giving up on whole forum thing.

hi ride'

lets assume for a few lines that EVERYTHING related to the post/issue/history/past conflict/exchange and actions...

are EXACTLY as written in the o.p (congrats on 500, did you SAVE this for that?)

and your original SINCERE question (which is NOT part of the o.p) is...

"is there anything wrong with these posts"

fine (and noble assumptions are now over)...

but the issue STILL becomes how ONE SET of mods interpret/enforce in one world vs ANOTHER WORLD...

and eventually gets back to bashing/thrashing and so on...

on 1 site ABOUT another.
____________

this is done a LOT in subtle and not so subtle ways but always gets to and AT the same issue.

being spanked elsewhere and venting (at the least) or attacking (at the other end of the spectrum) on another location where still free to post.
____________

my last post was just a fyi (and a heads up with another view) from a neutral viewer....
____________

and here's another fyi...

had you just started a thread HERE with these words ...

"hey guys/gals i am THINKING about posting these thoughts (no mention of wb' site)....

((insert post, but NOT replies or sanctions...)

and wanted feedback about HOW the content/wording or volatility might be viewed by the MODERATORS here..."

the replies might be VERY positive, supportive or otherwise non conflicting...

and THAT feedback might make one FEEL BETTA'

(again IF the goal was a little support)

and the ULTIMATE PROOF of acceptance would be IF the thread HERE survived...

THEN you could PLAY UP how great the mods are HERE (brown noses get points)
_________

and that could be followed by starting a thread over THERE, with the title...

"the AIR FORUMS mods are COOL!"

and we could all watch HOW THAT THREAD played in peoria...

cheers

Rick, I'm sorry, but I'm gonna call you out on this one. It is not factual in any way. Period.

Sure looks that way from here, but this is probably not the venue to pursue it on and I probably should not have made the statement on this forum

From the thread location, this is the WBCCI forum. It seems appropriate to post here about the WBCCI. If people can't post together in one place than if they have another place to post I can't see any reason not to utilize the other avenue to communicate with each other.

Maybe I don't understand what "over the top" means in your context.

And maybe depicting people's behaviour as "almost criminal" is just a kind of folksy and friendly way of describing it.

Maybe. But likely?
