". . .So you would be OK with all Thor products being rebadgible to airstream and being WBCCI members. I will not stop with "one generational owner" and continue to suck the energy await from building a strong new style WBCCI. " Quote by Over59

Over 59, I do not anticipate the rebadged members being a significant force in the club IF the rest of us stand up and vote and become active for change, Yes, see, I used the CHANGE word too I'm somewhat disturbed by some posts that would seem to limit the club to trailers only, and the point of my post was to encourage us to be inclusive of our current AS motorhome or Argosy owners, without making them feel that they are of less worth. No, I'm not happy about the rebadge deal. Chuck it if we can. In fact, I'm about to change our WBCCI status from MAL to a unit membership just so I CAN vote. I wonder what unit most wants us? ~G

IMHO, you should sign up with a unit that provides for 1M1V. I think that would give you the most bang for your buck/vote.

Since we can't use "Airstream", the word "Air" seems pretty safe like the air we breathe. We need air to survive and our Airstream to live life fully.

Air's Travel Club

It just tickled me that someone named Air Apparent would want to change the name to the Air Travel Club.

FWIW,

In reading through all of these, I do think that the focus has been on trailers. But I also have a hunch that the negative references to MOHOs, is to those that would be rebadged. Airstream MOHOs and Argosys are already in - as they should be. They are a true A/S product.
Some of this is probably just an oversight.

Anything Airstream -- in.

Anything not -- out.

"Airstream Editions" are not Airstreams.

Therefore, Airstream Editions -- out!

Ten years ago when new airstream owners felt that WBCCI was not for them as a result of their personal experience at a particular event or series of events they just went away. There was no place else to go. You see WBCCI has had a monopoly. That has changed with the forum. Now they can find each other and discover they share an interest. There is an alternative to "go away and get a coleman pop up if you want to change something" attitude recently attributed to Mr. Franklin. This is what has changed, exposure, access, a community outisde the leaderships procedural controll. I would encourage all members of this community to email and write Airstream, Inc, IBT members, Regional Officers and brief them on your position.

I agree, letter to Wade Thompson in the mail and working on letters to Jim Emlinger, Jim Franklin and Don Shafer.

Basically that I disagree with this motion and asking questions about the research which went into the motion. I will wait for a response before deciding to post either my letter or any reply.

That's EXACTLY what they're counting on guys. It's probably okay to protect current MoHo users when they need to upgrade to an SOB in the future. There are many that would disagree with that, but Thor/Airstream did just leave these folks out on a limb.

But please don't get suckered into the belief that is what is going on here. These folks were offered a Grandfather option and DISMISSED it. Why? Because this isn't about protecting 860 MoHo users. This is about changing the rules so that current MoHo LEADERS can fulfill their WBCCI leadership dreams while traveling in non-Airstream manufactured product.

If they can't get this past the membership THEY CAN'T LEAD. Well they're doing such a %#$$ poor job right now we should all be thrilled when that finally happens.

We can save MoHo members easily. But once they move out of AS product they would become affiliate or associate members. They could still attend, and party, and travel just like today. But as affiliate or associate members they wouldn't be regular members and that means no voting, holding elected office, or chairing committees. In other words, MoHo users would be able to take it easy and enjoy what they've built all these years.

It's VERY difficult to point out the horrible things our leaders are trying to do to this club without pointing out that the main reason this is happening is that by far and away our leadership is traveling around in MoHo's. It's a complete flop from the make-up of our club where by far and away the membership is pulling trailers.

THAT is what is wrong with this club. We have to find leaders pulling trailers and get them in leadership positions throughout the club. When the make up of our leadership reflects its membership we'll see true leadership. Leadership that protects the very foundations that this club was founded on.

If you don't think this is about opening the club to all kinds of new white boxes and brand new members with white boxes you need to look at the literature we released at SaveWally. The quotes should scare the living daylights out of you.

There's another piece coming out in the next week or so that might be more your style, and THAT should also scare the living daylights out of you. The comments being made all week long in Perry are nothing short of Anti-WBCCI and Pro-Anything goes in La-La-Leaderland. From refusing to include the club's name in a motion (replaced by the Airstream RV Club) to chomping at the bit to bring in SOB 5th wheels, SOB Class Cs, opening the club to ALL Four Winds owners -- your club will soon look more like a field of white than a field of silver.

Our leaders are abusing the responsibilities that they should have been wise enough to assume when they were elected to office. But its an inner circle of MoHo's and the hell with YOU (and ME) and anybody else that doesn't like what THEY are all about.

Can you imagine campaigning to save red jackets and flag ceremonies OVER saving the club's name and membership requirements? These people are out of touch with this club and should be ceremonially TOSSED from the club. Where are our impeachment procedures?

By the way darling (God I hope I'm corresponding with Georgia) bring your membership on up to Metro NY. I'll personally guarantee your vote will be counted EVERY time baby... I'll even email you your full color newsletter every month... The only thing is it's not cheap up here in the big city. Membership is $15 a year. The other benefit is that anytime somebody needs you for something you can tell them you'll have to check your schedule with your friends in New York to see if you're needed that weekend. We don't have to tell Max if you don't want to...

What will they think of next?

Who's got the crystal ball?

When this proposed amendment to our Constitution gets defeated. And, yes, it is going to go down in flames. What's next? What is the IBT going to do then? Are they going to pack their berets and leave?

More importantly, what are WE going to do? Are there impeachment procedures in place? Censure? Is the IBT the only body that can make proposals to amend our Constitution? Should we maybe even start thinking about changing our form of government? (President, House, Senate, Judiciary)

Sorry about all the questions. The more I think about things the more I realize I don't know very much. I could have gone on but I figured I'd stop at ten questions for tonight. Thanks.
