A 'streamer has passed: Attention Michigan Unit

My mother, Leona DeJager, passed away late last evening. She was an avid 'streamer from 1982 to 1999, along with my late father, Ira (Ike) DeJager, and belonged to the Michigan Unit. They went on many caravans and helped start the first Holland Tulip Festival Rally. They spent many winters in Florida at Travelers Rest when it was an exclusive A.S. park. Her funeral will be Tuesday 4/5/11 in Spring Lake, MI. Grand Haven Tribune and Muskegon Chronicle will have obituaries this weekend.

My condolences to you Kay in your time of grief. I'm sure she will be dearly missed by all. That is a very nice write up on your parents streaming life. I now see where you get your camping spirit. My heart goes out to you and I know how you feel I have lost two parents in the last few years.
Please take care and know that my thoughts are with you and yours in this trying time.

Kay, I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure your mother will now keep an eye on you and help guide you in your own adventures.

thinking of you

It is difficult to lose a mom. Especially one who was a great camper. It sounds like she had a love of adventure and passed it on to you. You have great memories to share with your family too. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

I did not know them, but being Airstreamer's we are all one big family. It doesn't make it easier but hold on to the great camping memories and know that many share your sorrow.

Kay,
Sorry for your loss. I was a Michigan Unit member for a while in the 2000's and have passed your message along to the Unit. I'm sure there are many still in the Unit there that will remember your mother.

Lorrie and I wanted to attend the Tulip Festival Rally when we joined, but the last one was either the year before or the year we joined and we never got the chance.
