A new old number appeared

It's been fun reading all the history over the couple months, and all the neat storie about this trailers.. While wishing our 66 Safari was 'numbered', I started removing 8 years of forest grime, fungus, and crud. There on the back were the ghost reflections of a series of numbers.... 27288... Sounds pretty current but thought there might be a way to begin to gather some history of where she's , who owned her, etc... Can some one please glance into some of their archieves and see if they have any records of parentage...
Thanks a bunch,
Karen in Mich.

In 1974 27288 belonged to Ed Ethel Rehman from Boyne city Michigan. Number did not go this high in 1966.

these days the 5 digit number are probably more likely to be original than the 4 digit ones as many of the 4 digit have been recycled.
My original number, 27089, was issued in late 72 so 27288 would fall in that time sequence as indictated by Dwightd's info

I did some searching and found that Mr. Reham is , I believe, alive and lives in Boyne City. Most exciting is if he is, he will prbably be the oldest airstream owner alive as he is 104 years old. I do have some contact info for a relative and will try to confirm this week... How exciting!!!!!!
