I'm sure we will have a caravan starting with my rear tires dipped in Lake Erie. It's really within a days drive of a huge amount of Airstreamers!

Douthat State Park is a hidden gem in Virginia as well, close to Clifton Forge. We are heading there in a couple weeks and can't wait!

QUOTE=rideair;1656806]May I suggest those attending the rally think of Virginia as well for things to do and see. No more than about an hour away, is Lexington, Virginia home of VMI and Washington and Lee University. Also, there is a hot air balloon festival held on the grounds of VMI every year over the July 4th holiday weekend if you're looking for things to do your way home.

Enjoy,[/QUOTE]

I organized a white water rafting trip for the 2009 Region 4 Rally when it was held in Lewisburg. We had 17 sign up and all had a blast. Unfortunately, due to a conflict we will not be attending the 2016 International in Lewisburg, but I have already suggested to HQ that a rafting trip be a planned event. Not sure if that is in the works, though. If you'd like to see it, drop a note to HQ.

The water leak police left me a nasty gram in Farmington. Problem was, it was the an issue in Farmington's water valve. I ruined a good hose trying to tighten it and the leak continued. When we left the water was still dripping.

If you want toi see a six star hotel - check out the Greenbriar in White Sulphus Springs, WV. While there, you can also tour the cold war bomb shelter built for Congress and see how they left the rest of us to fend for ourselves.

This weekend registrations surpassed 500! I understand that overflow site are being made available, but if you are planning on going, I would get my registration in the mail!

Even if your are "on the fence", I would consider sending it in. Cancellation fees are only $35. Good insurance.

We've registered and looking forward to it. Don't know yet if we'll arrive in the area early or stay after the rally but either way we plan to do some sightseeing in the area.

Whitewater Rafting in Lewisburg

I've been whitewater rafting with Class VI Riverrunners out of Beckley, WVa for 20 years. The New River is an extraordinary ride and not too far from Lewisburg. I do hope the Rally Tours include this activity. I've suggested it as well, several times.

Now that dry camping is available we have signed up.
In the past we have done rafting trips on both the New and the Gauley and they were both good trips.

Pretty short run from our house. We will be there. 2nd trip to a International for us. I sorta wanted to look around that area anyway. Grew up in Southwest VA well upstream on the New River.

I am not sure whether this is a buddy event. If it is not, you would first have to join WBCCI through a local or the International Website. WBCCI.ORG. Then you would have to make a reservation through the website or a call to Jackson Center. The full service and electric/water campsites are sold out. Jackson Center could give you the latest information on availability of Boondocking sites over the phone.

The office is closed until after the new year. But yes you can register online if your a member of the WBCCI.

Go to http://wbcci.org and click on the big red buttons that says "Register for Lewisburg"

Only dry camping is available currently, but you will be on the waiting list for hookups, so register soon.

I don't know the official count today, but it was well over 660 a few week ago.
