Feel like a mushroom
Are there going to be any announcements of what the CBL revision folks have done in the next few days? Or are we to remain in the dark??
It would seem that if there are going to be any changes in the near future there will have to be motions made and sent to units so they can instruct their delegates how to vote.
At this point it would appear that the chances of anything happening at the upcoming International would be slim to none. Meanwhile the membership keeps dropping and the money keeps being wasted.
Perhaps I just don't understand the system. Or then again maybe I do.

Rick, additional minor changes to the Revision Committee's re-write of the Constitution are being done based on discussions with the Exec Board.
I believe you're (and everyone else) not going to left in the dark once this part of the process is complete.
I think Sunday it will be disclosed.
Further, assuming the revision is adopted it will go out to the units/delegates
That's the process, we need to follow the current Bylaws to make the desired changes. Along with Roberts Rules.

Rick,
Via the current set of rules, they have until late March to get any changes (WBCCI Constitution) to be voted on at the delegates meeting out to the Unit Presidents. Depending on the amount of re-write (we now learn to both the Constitution and By-Laws, though unit only vote for changes to the Constitution) it may or may not allow the Units enough time to fully understand all the changes and how they will effect the club. Over the years, normally there would be "small" changes made and even those would send some Units into a tail-spin because they don't really understand what they are voting on and only go by if the Region Prez thinks it's a good idea.
And then remember, changes can then be done on the "floor" during the voting (we've seen what can happen there) in the end, this could become a real mess.

If this is correct how will this disclosure take place?
The Midwinter ends on Friday with the performance of the Grateful Geezers (seems so appropriate ) and every one heads out Saturday according to the posted schedule

Call me a cynic, but why should any business of the club be conducted behind closed doors?

I can hardly what for the stone tablets to be brought down from the mountain on high! Since March 1 will soon be here, I wonder how much trouble it will run into in getting its Letter of Recommendation from Chairman Shafer's Constitution and Bylaws Committee by March 20? That's a rhetorical question of course, but I can't imagine that those tablets will be easy for the membership to swallow.

Success
Update, meetings have been ongoing since Sunday at the Mid Winter, a consensus has now been reached.
Kerry Mattiia of the Revision Committee will make a summary synopsis report on the progress of the NEW CONSTITUTION Friday Morning near the beginning of the meeting, please listen in for details.
There are a few T's to cross and i's to dot but it is 99% completed.
The Committee will be working over the next 10 days or so to finalize the document. More details will be forth coming as to timing and how publishing will occur.
It will be presented in the next few weeks to all members to review and a list of Committee members and others will be made available for any member to contact via email and or tel, this will give everyone an opportunity to fully understand the New document before voting upon it.

OK, I feel uneasy about this. A "new Constitution"?? Revisionism? Will this "NEW Constitution" sideline, or derail, the Denver Unit's Motion to be sent out for all Units for a vote that was promised????

Personally, I feel VERY uneasy when someone tells me they wrote a new Constitution for me. I wonder how the Continental Congress would have reacted to King George rewriting the Constitution for the people. The people were peasants, what did they know about governing their own lives, right.
I also feel VERY uneasy when I am told, "you will like, even though you had zero input or insight into it."
I ESPECIALLY feel uneasy when all those messages are delivered by someone who lead people into battle and then flipped sides for their own gain.
All of it adds up to disappointment and distrust.
The people will follow along like sheep or they will revolt. Time will tell( more than it already has) us all the real deal.

Frank, how can you claim members had "zero" input when the Revision committee reached out for suggestions to everyone right here

Frank, there are two responses to controversy, fight or flight, choosing the later you never joined the battle you helped form TAC didn't you?
Flipped, Gain? hardly, I and the other 4 members of the committee gained several hundred dollars in phone bills and spent countless hours meeting and drafting the Constitution and bylaws.

You're a very open minded individual then. So before you hear Kerry's statement on Friday and review the document you have pre-judged our work thanks!

While we have been pretty well kept in the dark about what this committee has been doing, There was unquestionably the invitation to provide them with input.
I did just that and hope many others did too.
I will be listening intently to see what comes out of the meeting tomorrow morning and will withhold judgement until then

So does this mean that the people who supported the Defend Wally movement are going to get their money back soon? Sounds like you are very positive about the revisions to the constitution which is what you were waiting on before refiling the suit or refunding money.
I may have no stake in this, but still want to see this wrong get righted.

I resent the use of your wording "Wrong"
The Lawsuit was put on hold pending a successful outcome which we now have, therefore Howie E along with Metro NY Treasurer will be refunding donations less expenses, pro rata, beginning next week.
Howie will be managing that issue. He is traveling at the moment away from Internet access, but we spoke late yesterday.
Defend Wally will no longer exist, the lawsuit will be officially discontinued, the attorneys will be notified today.

We're all going to be informed tomorrow of the proposed changes to the Constitution, and then members will have an opportunity to vote on them---so let's let this process play out, shall we?
