I think the only time badges are checked is when you enter the building of nightly entertainment or dinner. The vintage Open House is open to the public. I don't know about the meeting being open or closed but doubt they are screening bodies filing into the auditorium. I would think the vendors and new Airstream dealer would welcome all visitors as well. I think there is a flea market too that would be a good event to catch. Check the schedule for times and dates. There are probably contact numbers listed too. There is always the possibility that you might want to inquire about a day pass (perhaps including dinner and entertainment) but I think you would have free range of the fairgrounds as a visitor without a membership or pass to the other activities and areas. I hope some others chime in and confirm ar clarify my comments.

I don't think there is any problem wandering the fairgrounds or even going in the vendors building. The new trailer display is in the parking lot out front.
Some one may watch for a rally ribbon going into the flea market, but even that is unlikely. The flea markey is inside

They will watch for ribbons going into the evening entertainment and the dinner, but other than that should not be any problems

Sarasota Rally

We visited the Rally today. We are not WBCII members. We have an Airstream, but not at the rally. No problem going in to visit the vendors or wander through the Airstreams. Camping World, Fantastic Vents, Zipdee and other misc. vendors are present. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Airstream is even represented with personnel from Jackson Center, as well. I don't think there is a problem attending the swap meet on Saturday morning, since we did that a couple years ago. Go enjoy and have fun.

Any Argosy trailers?

I was wondering if any vintage Argosy(s) have attended the Sarasota rally? Are they allowed to mingle with the shiny Airstream family? I'm living in my reconditioned 1976 24' Argosy in Venice, FL for the winter and would love to connect with anyone else who owns one.

Hi, and welcome to the forums!

Yes, you can join the WBCCI with an Argosy. I am sure there are Argosies at the Florida State Rally. And there are probably thousands of Argosy owners on these forums!

If you scroll down the main page you will find a section specifically about each model, in fact.

FATE of the wbcci

And yes, it was a misprint.

Most of the discussion was concerning the new constitution and really little was brought out that we did not already know. The proposal is currently in the hands of the executive committee.
Wiil try to post a timeline and more details from my notes as soon as I get a little free time
The end goal is to get it to the unit prez by 4/1 but we should have solid info on the content sooner than that.
Several people emphasized we need this as soon as possible.
A member also spoke vehemently against the front row at the seminar being reserved for past and present officers.
Several also spoke about how the formality and berets need to go.

Larry Huttle followed on the program.. He pretty well confirmed there would NOT be an Airstream class A or C motor home in the forseeable future.

Also that any "Airstream addition" of another brand would not be sold and serviced through the Airsteam network.

Nothing here that did not come out at the winter IBT.

My own observation is that there needs to be more time reserved for the IP's seminar and less for Larry Huttle.

Rick, thanks for responding. Are three Vintage Airstreams arrived at the Rally Tuesday. We were confused for a while while we learned our away around. This was the first rally. We were the four that wore the WBCCI Berets and in a 1966 20' Over Lander built in Ohio, 1966 20' Over Lander build in California and a 1967 24' Tradewind built in Ohio. We all had a great time.

Airstream and Larry are back to the position they took at the Gillette rally. He made an offer at the Sugarcreek rally that, if enough club members came forward with firm orders there would be a Thor class A coach to be finished at Jackson Center and sold through the Airstream dealers. Evidently there were not enough, so the offer has been withdrawn. Larry told me he will still have a relationship with Airstream after he retires and opens his facility in Arizona.
