Hey! We're gaining so many members we have to chase them away

Well, not really, but we are attracting a GREAT bunch of folks! We informally inducted two couples at our rally held earlier in San Luis Obispo; another couple who joined us for dinner only signed up; and we've gotten interest from folks outside 'our area'. WOW! In addition, we went through the International process and actually changed our name and logo to something more fitting to our area...Tri-County California Unit is now the CENTRAL COAST CALIFORNIA UNIT which encompasses San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties. Streamer23: So that we're on the same page, what constitutes a member? Does one membership = one trailer? one membership w/wbcci? We have one membership, two '54 Flying Clouds, and we're two people. Does this equal one membership?

One person or a couple = 1 member regardless of the number of Airstreams you own.

how many WBCCI members were lost due to death, year by year?

Not as of yet.I did put together the Region 11 total for another forum member(336 members).I'll work on them over the next day or so and let you know.

These membership numbers are the official numbers used by the WBCCI every year. It's determined by the voting strength of each unit as of June 1st of each year.

Thanks for providing that Leo.The directory totals would be different and usually lower than the totals that are'official' on June 1st of each year because of non renewals.
The cutoff time to get in the directory is November.This years official directory number was 6112.The official membership in Mid January/09 was 6278.By June of this year when the 'official' membership number is taken it should be around 6600 if new memberships follow their historic amounts.
Let's just go with the numbers you have as they are much less of a headache for me trying to defend the info printed in the 'official'membership directory.

I think this will be the last year for me to create these yearly WBCCI membership threads.Anyone interested in future years can pm me and I will provide what I have found.

ONLY 20% OF AIRSTREAM LIFE SUBSCRIBERS BELONG TO THE WBCCI.

That is a few thousand members that the WBCCI has missed.

This Number come from the WBCCI 2020 longrang planning committe proposed action plan for 2009 report.

I'm not trying to make a comment one way or nother on WCCI growth or shrinkage. I am a member of the pa. unit and on the board of the campground. I just checked on our 2009 membership directory and it shows 60 menbers for 2009. What is interesting is that as best I can tell we added 8 new member which does coinside with your number.

My interest here is to make sure that or members are properly accounted for by WBCCI.
Could you give me the source of your numbers?

The source of my numbers is the 2009 WBCCI membership directory.The number would not include Associate members or any members that did not renew in time to get printed in the directory.
