Pets are allowed in the Vintage section, and that is the one nice thing that has always been true -- pet owners have never been segregated within the Vintage parking area. When I pre-registered, I marked Vintage, dogs, and 30-AMP -- since I will be parading in with the VAC, I know that my parking will be within the Vintage section. You will, however, receive a park pass with a D that will be replaced with a C (at the VAC Pre-Rally) for Caravan to denote entry with the VAC via the parade.

Thirty-Amp electric has been available in each parking area except the generator section. This year, there was a double-row of 30-AMP followed by a double-row of 3-AMP within the Vintage section. In some of the other parking areas where individual arrivals (rather than caravans like Vintage) were parked there may have been a majority of rows with either 30-AMP or 3-AMP.

The 30-AMP spots at recent Internationals have been limited by a deadline for requesting the service that is several months before the rally. A waiting list has been available for those who decide later that they wish 30-AMP -- the waiting list receives preference when/if there are cancellations among those subscribed for 30-AMP.

As for weather,
Its pretty humid right at the moment, but a big storm front is going through...
What we say here in Wisconsin is "If you don't like the weather, wait a couple hours, it'll change" :-)
Honestly though this time of year is usually hot and humid, iWe've actually had a pretty cool summer compared to normal.

I wouldn't join WBCCI just for the International either.

I joined for the Vintage Club and also for being able to attend any of the many rallies.

When (if?) I retire, I would also like to go on several of the Caravans as well.

Mikethefixit.

$600+ is for my family, six of us with 30 amp power. Before you jump on the "I hate the WBCCI" band wagon, please take the time to see what it would cost for you to go to International......

www.WBCCI.org

That said, we are still going to put together the money and time for this. I want to see what a International is. I hear so much from both sides.

Now my biggest choice is do I caravan in with my unit or go up on my own?

Get there however you can...but for the best time, parade in and park with the VAC!

Tedd,

We're planning on joining up with a group of FUN folks from across North America. Plan to join in and show your support for a group that knows how to do Airstreaming right.

Cool

We haven't joined the group yet. How can we get info on the international rally in Madison? We live just outside (and both work in Madison) so we'll be there, lol. As for humidity, last night at 10:00pm, it was 73 degrees and 92% humidity. If you are not from Wisconsin and/or have pets you'll want AC! We're use to it, but most WI natives can't even handle it.

We too have a 1956 22 ft Safari. Our model did not come with tanks, except for a water heater, so we are concerned about being able to dump our 18 gal external holding tank. With that said and needing a water hookup and 30 Amp ( although we can get by on using 110V, We are looking forward to attending our first WBCCI International Rally. WI is a 2000 mile trip for us here in WA but it will give us a chance to see more of the US than just the west coast and I heard the fishing there is great.

The registration form says there is a dump station, so you should be able to dump your external tank as needed.

Hope to see you there.

We will hope that the solution worked out for the Bozeman Rally is applied in Madison. Emptying our portable blue tanks was the easiest yet at Bozeman. There was a large holding tank provided at the edge of our camping area with a catch basin to dump our portable tanks into -- least troublesome of any of the solutions tried yet.

I am currently in Hungry Horse, MT on my way back to the Midwest. I am sure that you will enjoy your trip from Washington to Madison -- US 2 is one of my favorite routes -- very scenic and quite rlaxing to drive.

Good luck with your planning!

Kevin
