Tank Courtesy Light
OK, I have owned this thing for over 2 months and have just found out there is a courtesy light by the tank dump handles. I cannot seem to figure out where the switch is or how to turn it on. I turned on the door light thinking that all the outside lights would come on - nope that's not it. Could be a blown bulb but before I crawl on the wet grass to remove it I would like to know where the switch is.
I read the manual - that's a good thing - no mention of the switch but does show the light in a very poor schematic diagram of the wiring harness of the trailer.
Anybody have a clue? - please let me know. Thanks for your help.

Thank You pieman - right on the lower curve of the bottom trim - found it - no light - must be a blown bulb. Fused on the same circuit as an interior light so I know there is current. Now to look up the bulb type to buy a spare. This light can be very usefull so I need it to work.

Michael,
My light quit working last year and I found that it was a bad switch. It had started sticking and the contact inside was not good. I pulled the switch out and went to Lowe's Home Improvement. I replaced it with a toggle switch and added a new rubber screw-on cover. It works great and there have been no accidental turning on that I was worried about.

Thanks, I'll check them both out tomarrow if the ground is dryer. The back end is backed off the drive to allow access to the garage so I may pull it forward.

Mine hasn't worked for at least a year. Never use the dump valves after dark so I just don't think about it.

I love that light. There are no lights on the street side, and although that one is small, it makes a great marker light when we boondock way out in the sticks!

It's working NOW
Just went out there after the SAINTS WON the game and let dogs out - who by the way have been begging for an hour to go out - no way I was going to leave the TV. I exercised the switch several times then rapped on the bulb cover twice - POOF I have light. It's good because I 've been looking for an external 12V so I can put a small LED lamp under the door behind the steps to light them up. I will do the swtch external like the courtesy light on the lower edge and have it sealed with a boot.
Ahh - life is good - I have a dump light and the Saints are going to the NFC Championships then on to the Super Bowl. Somehow this was all ment to be.

Man, what a GAME! Only one I've watched all the way through all year, and I picked a good'n!
Oh yeah, and my dump light doesn't come on right away on mine, either. I think there's just so much dirt in the switch from the wheels that the contact isn't what it oughta be. That light relies on the shell for it's ground too, so popping it out and cleaning it around its edges might help.

Not to take it way off thread, but I hope the Bears can pull a rabbit out of their hat today...particularly with our hot/cold QB. Been a long time since 1985!
