Extended Warranty

I purchased an extended warranty for my 28' CCD when I bought it 2 months ago for $2775. After talking with some people they advised me that I should cancal the warranty. Is this a good idea and does anyone know if AirStream offers an extended warranty through the factory at a more reasonalble price.

I didn't buy the dealer's warranty. It was a rip-off costing about $2K. Most of the vendors of the expensive items, such as the converter/charger, fridge and AC will send you extended warranties for their products at alot less price. Bank your savings for anything else that can go wrong. I'm sure you'll come out ahead.

I would get out, if possible. The chance that you will have warrantable repairs totalling $2,700 within a couple years after the 2 year factory warranty is up seems slim. Besides, from all I have read the third party extended warranties tend to deny coverage wherever possible - ie: not using the proper pre-repair approval process.

I am not aware of an AS factory extended warranty program.

The two appliance companies (Atwood and Dometic) offer extended warranties for the appliances and furnace in the coach. With two air conditioners, refrigerator, water heater and furnace I think I was around $500 for all of them together. There is five years on the Dometic stuff and two more on the Atwood stuff.
