Anyone replace the accordion door?

I'm entering my 2nd camping season with my 25' International (2005). Love it to bits, but there's one bit I'd like to change, big time.

The accordion door. It serves a purpose, but not well enough for me. In my A/S, the door shuts at the foot of the bed, leaving just enough room by the vanity for a mouse. I'm a small person, and I still find myself squashed back there.

Has anyone else removed that door and replaced with something that works a bit better? We've come up with the idea of bending some metal tubing or pipe to a similar shape as those curved shower rods (nice shiny aluminum colour of course).

The whole idea being to affix a nice curtain (or even a very nice shower curtain) to this curved rod that can be drawn across the space for temporary privacy, but giving more room to move. The curtain can then be tucked away in the space where the accordion door was stashed... There's room at the top of the wardrobe cupboards to affix the hardware/pipe. It would start though at the original location of the accordion door so that the curtain can be drawn back and stored in that little nook, but when it's closed both wardrobe doors can be accessed.

Or - perhaps I should just stop changing outfits so darn much!

Anyhow, just curious if anyone else has retrofitted a different sort of door. Unsure if this is just a pipe dream of mine.

Thanks

The curtain you explain may be worth a try...but I would probably just remove the door completely. Unless you are changing clothes while entertaining company...the main door and window curtains/shades would be privacy enough for me.

Not entertaining company necessarily, but I've got two little boys that are constantly on the move (if not settled into bed on the sofa watching a movie). Closing the window curtains is a chore as a few of our locks don't close so we have to work at gingerly passing the curtain by it, so we tend to only do it when necessary.

Hoping it won't be a bigger job than it seems (they always end up that way though...).

Pradigm shift...

That makes sense...I don't have kids.
