Thumbs up Any issues beyond 1 yr warranty?

Hi all.

My wife and I just bought a 2005 CCD Int'l. We were trying to decide if we should buy the extended warranty on the CCD. Wanted to check with the 2003 owners if they had experienced any problems on their CCD after the 1 yr factory warranty expired (appliances, cabinets, wiring, anything) and approx. cost you spent fixing that issue(s). This would give us a better idea if we should spend the $ now on an extended warranty of if the quality control by AS is good enough that we do not have worry too much about it.

Thanks!

- Mike & Angela

The units come with a 2 year warranty. Some components may even have a year or two extra beyond the Airstream warranty. Some of the more expensive components offer seperate extended warranties that cost less than a whole trailer extended warranty. At one time Airstream had a lifetime (your lifetime) warranty. It's really a judgement call. Some warranties are only honored by specific dealers, while others are nationwide...and Airstreams, though they use the same fridge and other components, some places don't like working on them. I didn't get the warranty and have no reservations about that decision as our coach is now about 1.5 years old. I figure that for the $1000 some of the plans I've seen cost, I could invest that money and cover any number of components that fail out of warranty. Of course I'll admit it is a risk, it's one I was willing to take having been able to shell out $40k for a coach, knowing that one day I may need to spend a thousand or two to keep it going as it ages gracefully.
