1996 AS 34' Limited

We recently sold our '97 Excella, and this week an unused & parked '96 Limited has caught my eye. All the photos posted on Vintage Airstream Classifieds show shiny exterior and shiny Corian countertops and furniture; owner says none of the appliances have ever been used, in fact, they still have the original stickers on them. The unit has been parked inside since new. Indeed, there's even a zippered cover for the trailer.

I have asked several questions about the condition of the tires, electrical & plumbing systems, or ceiling problems. The owner replied the tires had maybe 1000 miles on them since he did take the trailer to Jackson Center for ceiling droop repair. And he said the system had alcohol in it; I assume this was a previous method of winterizing.

This website has been immensely helpful to us with our other two AS, so please, what other questions should I be asking? Thanks in advance,

Get yourself a copy of the Checklist. (You can find it here) and print it out.

Then go and see the trailer in question, and fill our the entire list. That's really one of the few ways you can do it.

Also consider using an Airforum.com Inspector. They are list by geographic area, IIRC.

Good luck!

This likely is not the correct place to post this but
Where are the batteries located on a 1995 Classic Limited 34

I checked behind my stone guards and no doors
I have to assume the only access to the batteries is behind the sofa.
Hard to check the levels there
Any suggestions??

Do you have an e-mail that I can send pics to? I looked up you Airstream, and found the parts book on that year. I can send you pics to your e-mail acct, if you have one. Thank you,

Howard and Ann Schutt , In the pic above this, Do you see the battery boxes on the front of the camper? This pic is of a 1995 34ft airstream. I wish I could help. Please keep asking if yours is nothing like this. I am sorry I wasn't much help. Best wishes.
Michelle.

we have the 94 version. our batteries are on the driver's side, under the living room windows. there is a hatch that locks and the batteries are on a tray that slides out. it is quite close the the kitchen table as the converter is under the forward seat.
