So I have a few threads going and thought it best to separate my topics. My zip dee will not retract. It seems to be frozen on the forward side and I'm afraid I'm going to break it if I force it. Any suggestions?

Hey Daddyo,

Just had to say it. Your spring inside of your awning may have broken. If that is, in fact, the problem it is an easy fix. Zip Dee will send you a spring ad they are not expensive. Installation is DIY.

Does your awning have the little locking arm like mine? The small curved lever with the hole in the end?

What Hiho refers to is a Z-lock. It is intended to lock the awning in the closed position.
If it is locked while the awning is open it will not roll up.
Also Zip Dee says not to lock the awning when in use.

Yes it does, I pulled it down before trying to pull it out, but it seems to still be in the locked position. The awning will only move about an inch or two
