Beautiful Cabinets

I always enjoy getting our 86 Limited ready for our spring trip. I think the hickory cabinets in the trailer are beautiful. I "oil" them every spring. I know and have admired the cabinetry in the earlier "international" trailers. But the hickory cabinets in our trailer are still my favorite.

I tip my hat to the Jackson Center cabinet shop employees who designed and built our cabinets. Still beautiful 30 years later.

I'm laying on my couch admiring mine.... After all these years they're still perfect and beautiful!
Nothing like the real wood of bygone days!

One of the things I LOVE about our 1987 Avion is the beautiful, solid wood cabinetry. Drawer fronts are dove-tailed and glued, no staples, screws, or nails. No veneers.... Just wonderful, solid wood.

Not many manufacturers go to the expense of solid wood cabinetry. I don't know about the high end 5th wheels and motorhomes, maybe they do.

I often read about the vintage Airstreams having such beautiful cabinets. My 66 Trade Wind is the base model and the cabinets are plywood veneers, not near as nice as our 86 Limited. Maybe the international version is nicer. I'm sure it is.

Anyway, the "real wood" is a special delight in this trailer.

Yep to all that. Our oak cabinets are my pride, as an old cabinetmaker. I don't have "new model envy" in any way, unless and until the Classic comes out in a lighter finish. The cherry is lovely, but not painted with shoe polish as the 2016 is. Just a personal opinion, of course.

I recently purchased a '90 Excella with wood cabinets. Unlike most of you, I'm not a fan of Oak. I appreciate the real wood construction & plan to keep the lower cabinets, but i want to paint them. Does anybody have experience painting them. I hear chalk paint can be used without a primer. I'm curious. Can't afford any mistakes in my new baby

That old Avion is sure nice inside. I understand the Avion was a very well built trailer. Beefy frame, axles, windows and the like along with the cabinets.

Our kitchen cabinets are painted. There are all kinds of interior designs for all kinds of folks. Makes it fun.

My old Austin Healey and Lotus Elan had wood dashboards. The wood accents inside the car were nice.
