'90 - '96 21' Sovereign ... HELP me find one

Darn it! I procrastinated and missed out on two seperarte 21' Soverigns recently advertised here in the Forums. I have decided that my Caravel just does not meet certain camping needs for me. I like the Soverigns size, too small for most, but just right for my purposes and with most of the modern comfort items like a reliable furnace, a modern electrical system, tanks, etc., etc. If anyone here has a lead on one for sale could you point me to it? Thanks.

If you are not in a hurry we may be selling our 1995 21' Sovereign in the late summer, early fall. It would be a very hard decision for us to sell because the trailer has served us well over the past 12 years. We are thinking about a larger trailer to replace this one. PM me with your email and I will put you on my first to notify list.

21' Sovereign value question

Hi, I'm looking at a 15 year old 21' Sovereign, looks like it's in pretty good shape, except the tires are 10 years old according to the DOT codes. what would be a reasonable ballpark price range for something like this?

21ft Sovereign 1995 SOL:D

Sold my 95 Sovereign to a party in Japan for $17,900 last summer. I have seen the 92 to 95s go for around 15 to $18,000 on the forum .A friend bought his 92 for $15,500 about a year or so ago. The 21s go fast and at a high price. One reason is they only weigh in at 3,900lbs and can be towed with just about anything.

Thanks beaubill57,

The one I'm looking at is a '94 Sovereign 21, hasn't been advertised, the owner said he'd like to get $10-11K. I wasn't looking for a new airstream, but ran into it accidentally, so I haven't paid much attention to the trailer values for some time.

We spend about 2 months of the year in our 1999 19' Bambi, which we really like, but the extra space and tank capacity in the Sovereign would be really nice, (Bambi has the 8 gallon black tank) and it's only about 400 lb more. There probably aren't many places that the 19' would go that the 21' wouldn't.

I bought the Bambi for $12K about 3 years ago.

Well, I'm now the proud owner of a 1994 Sovereign 21, but the BB profile options for some reason won't let me choose 1994 for second Airstream, so 1999 Bambi 19 is now # 2

Congratulations! Great price for a 21 footer. We love the weight and tank capacities of our '93 21ft. Sovereign. The size is wonderful for many tight camp sites.
Enjoy your new treasure.

I saw it too

I saw it and asked if the headliner was loose anywhere, the condition of the tires and cleanliness of the carpet. The flipper, selling it, refused to answer...Those are major expenses on top of the extreme price he is asking. There are others out there and hope to find one. Thanks for remembering.

21' Sovereign on eBay

Dear Melody Ranch, I am sorry the seller did not respond to your questions, but be advised there are no headliners in the 92 and 93 21’ Sovereigns. You may not have clicked (CLICK HERE FOR SLIDESHOW AND COMPLETE PORTFOLIO OF PHOTOS) in the auction description and seen the three pics of the ceiling.

You may remember sending me a message asking me if my 92 21’ Sovereign was for sale, I’m sorry but I failed to respond also, the answer is no, I sold my 70 Globetrotter instead. I really like my 21’ Sovereign and I believe you will be pleased also if you are able to find one that meets your condition and price requirements.

As to price and condition of the 93 on eBay, I would like to give you my opinion for whatever it may be worth. Let me first say that I have no connection with the seller or his trailer for sale. Knowing how rare it is to see one of these Airstreams come up for sale, I posted notice of it’s sale here so that you or anyone else reading these threads would be aware. My 92 21’ Sovereign is in excellent condition, but the 93 that I see on eBay is better (I scraped a fence). It is the best example of an original 21’ Sovereign that I have seen in person or on the internet. I know you have looked at many yourself and I can’t imagine that you have seen any better. Is it worth $24,900? I don’t know, depends on the market - Supply and Demand. My preference would be the 93 21’ Sovereign over a new or newer Airstream because of the unique features of the 93, it’s lower cost, and better quality. Having owned a 70 21’ Globetrotter I prefer the 93 over older models because of repair issues, and comfort. I know this, If I hadn’t found my 92, I would go after the Airstream on eBay. Of course I would try to pay less than $24,900 and I expect the seller is willing to sell for less. I notice the price is $24,900 or Best Offer and the seller’s phone number is listed. I would make an offer, call and get the best deal I could. I would get that trailer. But that’s me, and not everyone feels the same way.

I bought my 92 through eBay and as an avid eBayer I pay special attention to every seller’s feedback. I notice this seller has a 100% positive rating with 461 feedbacks. That is quite an accomplishment for someone who sells used vehicles. He is a seller I would trust.

So Melody Ranch, that’s only my opinion, it’s easy when I know I’m not going to shell out the money, I am curious what value do you place on the 93 21’ Sovereign on eBay?

Anybody else have an opinion?

Does anyone know how many 21’ Sovereigns were made? (It’s my understanding not many because in the 90’s everyone wanted a big trailer, the 21’s didn’t sell well)

Anyone ever seen a 1994 21’ Sovereign?

If you do a member search and select only "1994 Sovereign 21'" as trailer # 1 you will find that there are no less then six members (including Yours Truly) who claim to be owners.

For some reason (or for no reason) the 1994 Sovereign Forum is AWOL.

Thanks Hamboblett.... I appreciate the time you took to answer. Yes I do remember talking about your 21 last year. I looked at a few at that time. The ones I looked at all had a vinel like headliner and wall covering...and all were loose...the adhesive having given up. The repairs involved removing everything and either replacing with new or removing all old loosened adhesive....very expensive. In some cases the pets had ruined the carpet and carpet wall liners....smell bad.
I figure, just me now, about 20,000 for a nice one. I was willing to offer that to this seller, but he replied....quite abruptly, he never took offers.....contrary to his ad.
Thanks again.
