Just this spring we got our self a 93 21' sovereign, Now the hot water heater is underneath the corner bed and the top of the heater is almost touching the bed wood where the mattress lays on, and there is no Styrofoam wraped around the heater tank to keep the heat, are all hot water heaters naked without Styrofoam around it? You think I could spray foam the tank?
There are other options which are probably better than foaming the heater.
- Fiberglass batting on the enclosure walls near the mattress
- Fiberglass jacket for the heater - you can buy these for regular sized water heaters, but you may have to cut one down for the AS
- Buy a fiberglass welders blanket (Northern Tool, any welders supply store, and wrap that around the heater.
Foam on the heater itself will be hard to apply, and may be a problem when the heater needs replacing.
