Newbie Dumb Question

I've been reluctant to ask this question at the risk of looking like a dope.....but even my Service Manual doesn't identify what is supposed to go in this hatch. 1975 International rear bath.

All that's inside are two electrical leads, black and red (in-line fused) lying on the floor. There's also a sort of like hose bib with a check valve in the compartment. Obviously it's for a pump but I already have a water pump under the sink. I'm confused. Thanks.

On mine that is just a general storage compartment. The leads are probably what is left from the compartment light that mounts just inside the door. I don't recall any water lines running through mine. Or is the hose bib laying loose? In which case that is probably supposed to go on the water supply.

I store odds and ends that I need outside in the compartment. Things like the handle for the awning and a small chair.

Aaron

Thanks for the reply Aaron. The elec leads are light guage and have rubber 90 degree connectors on them, like you would push onto a stem connection. The hose bib is built right into the trailer, inside of the compartment on the exterior wall. Definately looks 'factory installed'. It has no outlet on the outside of the trailer.

From the 'A picture is worth a thousand words' department......

The hose bib has no internal/external threads.

Anybody have the same set-up? Thoughts???

Looking into the compartment from above:

No idea about the hose bib thing, but the leads look like tho ones in my 74 that go to the ammeter shunt on the fuse panel in the univolt (since replaced). Where's the converter in yours?......Phil. On second look, the hose bib thing is a base for a light for the compartment.

Looks like you nailed it Phil. The Univolt appears to have been replaced at some point (new unit located to the right in top picture, out of view).......and I would have never guessed that thing was a light socket.
Thanks!

Here's what it looks like, I took it out, cleaned it up and got it working. It looks like your just missing the bulb and the cap. If it isn't a rusted mess, it should be salvageable. I also have one in the rear compartment......Phil.
