While with Chris I learned an important life lesson...

The difference between an ordeal and an adventure is the attitude.

This latest trip certainly was an "adventure". I did have fun and enjoyed it for the most. The repair shops in WV weren't very helpful though. I suspect the indifference I got was due to the fact that I wasn't local.

I got a phone call last night form the seller. He was calling to make sure I got home safely. We talked in depth about the fuel issues and he pointed me in a direction to look at. Apparently there is a $10 part under the carb that is a common failure which will effect the operation in the way I described.
I ordered it today as well as a new rad and fuel tank plus a few other small items that are needed.
The rest of the basic repair parts like spark plugs, fan belts, rad hoses etc are readily available from any auto parts supplier so I will be getting them once the car is at the mechanics for a safety inspection.

Death of a dream

I received this picture today from home today while away. I'm too heartbroken to comment or fully understand how drastic the damage is. It was caused by excessive snowload.

Oh, I'm so sorry to see that. There have been record snows this winter, but I've never seen an Airstream with that kind of damage - I Have seen a few where the garage or carport has collapsed on one, but this is something new. I am so sorry and hope you had it insured, not that insurance will cover the labor you've put into that trailer.

Don't think there isn't another Airstream out there for you - and probably even a better one. Give yourself a little time to breathe, then Sally Forth!

Wow! I've had what looks like more snow than that on my trailer....were the interior skins removed?

I'm so sorry my heart sank when I saw the picture.

As a side note I see lots of renovations where the interior is opened up and partitions removed, I often wonder if that heavy snow load might result in this kind of catastrophe.

I am so sorry to see this Chris. The earlier comment about damage to your Airstream was before I saw the picture. Sorry that happened and hope you can salvage it. You did a lot of great work on that trailer.

Chris, that is devastating. I'm so sorry to see this. My parents live in Niagara and just sent pics of their snow this morning too. What a wild winter. I feel sick for you. This is one trip you really don't want to hurry home for.

That's awful. You have put so much love and effort into the trailer and now to see it like this is heartbreaking.

You see the pictures of Airstream with a "blanket" of snow, including ours. People don't realize how much pressure is put on the roof with snow.

Chris, words can't describe how badly I feel for you. Just makes me feel sick to think of all the love you've put into that trailer and how it must make you feel to see that type of damage. Hang in there friend.
